The very short story is I was in a 12 yr relationship. It ended. She kept resurfacing (I never initiated contact, only responded when I felt like it). I totally let go and after 3 years I got the email many of you are waiting for. Love you, miss you, I now know I will never find anyone like you. I told her to show me with actions, not words ...which she did. We got back after 3 years. It was WONDERFUL...for 6 months. :/ I had done a LOT of work on myself and I know I'm an amazing partner...not perfect but so much better at understanding how to be in a relationship for the right reasons and show it. She, unfortunately reverted back to who she was before and just didn't have it in her to work through the hard parts. Anyway, I wrote a story about it here.... it pretty much sums up what happened from the initial breakup to the second one... I'm not promoting anything, I just think some of you might like the analogy of the story...
