Instincts Proven Right and Decrease in Respect

Funny, I can relate to the feeling. I always feel, when exes find someone else, that it proves that their love wasn't genuine. (Well except for one ex who maintains he still loves me above all even though he's now married with children).

And yet, when I think about how I loved the men in my life, I can say that each love was unique, incommensurable. So, if I were to be fair to both them and myself, I would have to assume that their love for me was also unique and genuine.

It takes more strenght to admit someone who left us did love us. It's easier to dismiss their feelings as false from the get go. You know why? It means challenging that inner voice that tells us: "See, they moved on, which proves what you suspected all along, that you are unlovabe." Or, in your case, Johan, it might serve to prove that true love doesn't really exist and is reserved for the incredibly naive. It's easier to confirm our suspicions then it is to challenge them.

It hurts when someone we loved has seemingly moved on but that does not in any way cancel out what existed between the two of you, Johan. For all you know, she could still have strong feelings for you. Life goes on, my friend, and the actors strutting on that stage must continue their act until their last dying breath. We all do it, we have to, one way or another, at times miserably and at times happily. Be grateful that you even shared a love with someone. Many people do not even get that much in a lifetime.

There are issues which are disturbing within this thread.

If you honestly think about it, I can't believe that anyone would resent being well treated to the point where they believed they were the ultimate, in a relationship.

You also have to ask yourself why you feel disgusted, if you walked away on your own terms, while following the dictates of your heart.

In a nutshell, you were well treated but you walked away and now resent the happiness of the people who you supposedly left behind, because your pride and ego hurt.

I'm not seeing a heart here. If anything, I'm disgusted.

This thread is confusing.

What kind of timeline are we looking at here after the break up? A week? month? year? Forever and ever celibate??

How about 10+ months?

My vote is that 3 months is perfectly respectable.

Apparently even 10+ months isn't enough. One must...stroke...his ever-growing ego for the rest of their lives, living full of regrets for losing the "ultimate" man! ;)

...his ever-growing ego

Sadly, it could never be as big as yours. Not even close.

And there's your fundamental incompatibility. Still, one month of incredible passion and a pair of sunglasses later, and we are witnessing a true and perfect love.

Let's hope johan follows suit, and soon. :bunny:

Dumbledore, go stalk someone else. You are one sick and twisted man.

How many cyber inches is a "civil distance?" I wish people on this site wouldn't crowd around, because it makes me hot and sweaty. Virtually, I mean. Anyway, I wish I could finish with a joke about gay anal sex, but I'm fresh out of new ideas.

I'm totally missing something here!!! I read the 3 pages twice and can't figure it out.

This thread is about white elephants, dancing around johan's backyard. No matter how hard he tries to keep them out of his house, they keep pushing their way in. So, he gets angry and lashes out, instead of finding a way to put them to rest.

I think you mean that their egos keep forcing their way into his threads.

What a shame that there's nothing on the market to curb out-of-control egos. Looks like that "elephant" may be "dancing around" in johan's thread for a while.

Aren't you the pink elephant? The one who needs medication badly but refuses to take them?

Kudos to Johan for not responding to this nonsense.

I just took my meds!

I still don't get it. But, it's okay.

You don't need meds. Dumbledore does. I'm sick of his stalking and am not the first female member he's stalked on LS. If you look into CherryBlossom's thread, you'll see him pulling the same crap today with her.
