Why is he giving me mixed signals?

Basically, i met this guy a couple of weeks back at a club in town, me and my friend got asked to go back to one of their houses after, so we did, my friend went to bed with his mate and i shared a bed with this guy..

we were up all night, talking having a laugh ( we got on really well ) but nothing sexual, not even a kiss, it came to morning and we went home, we spoke in the week over facebook etc, then the weekend just gone in the same place i saw him again, he was with his mates, one of which was seeing my friend now so they were pretty much together all night.

Me and him spoke for a short while then that was it for the night, then we got invited back to one of their parties, so we went, me and him rarely spoke all night, then it was time for everyone to go to bed, I asked if i could share a bed with him as the one i was left with looked pretty ****.

so i did, again up all night laughing, no sleep, and nothing sexual, but this time I Got the feeling he liked me, he'd hold my hand and occasionally put his arm around me, tell me that i made him laugh a lot, just that gut feeling you get..

then the day after we went back to his till about 11 on the night, in bed watching tv, again nothing sexual because he simplydidn'tt try ( not sure what to think ) but held my hand etc and just had a general laugh, i then went home.

Then all today we've been texting, i thought he wouldn't as i got a gut feeling yesterday when i got back from his that he didn't like me, dunno why.

He seemed quite keen in the texts, although they were each about an hour apart :S i then text him earlier and with no reply, so basically i'm confused on what to think, i understand i think too much into things but i quite like him and don't know wether to pursue it without asking him directly, his friend told me that 'i should go for it and that the lad thinks i'm cool' SORRY ABOUT THE LONG WINDED ESSAY! BASICALLY, JUST WANNA KNOW WHY HE HASN'T EVEN TRIED TO KISS ME OR MADE ANY TYPE OF MOVEMENTS, OR WHY HES GIVING THESE MIXED SIGNALS, DO I PERSUE OR NOT?
