Trialbyfire
If you're allowed to wear headphones, I would plug into an iPod and ignore her.
allina
The Other Day I Went To The Hospital With Palpitation And High Blood Pressure. What Do I Do... Annoying co-workers are annoying, but that's all, you can't blame her overly chatty personality on your medical problems. How about telling her that her constant talking is making it difficult for you to focus on your work and asking her to cut back on the noise.
Limerent
As Allina pointed out, you cant blame your medical problems on her quirkiness. It makes me think that perhaps you just dont like her at all and instead of just ignoring her like most would, you internalize it. There has to be some reason why she gets under your skin (other than the talkative nature) and maybe when you discover what that reason is, you can better determine what angle you are going to use when working with her to minimize the frustration. Does her name start with an * L * ? Are you referring to me??!!!

luvtoto
I myself am a recovering chatter-box. But, this lady sounds like she has absolutely NO internal dialog whatsoever. When I get chatty, I'll usually talk some to myself and then some to her. She tunes me out good though. Not to be rude, but because she is used to being around chatty people. Her daughter is that way. Anyway, I think I do it for attention. So, when I'm blabbing away, my coworker will tune me out. I mean TUNE ME OUT COMPLETELY. She is not listening to anything I say. When I ask her a question, it was very hard to get her attention. She was so zoned out on her work. She replied, "Oh! I am sorry. I thought you were talking to yourself again. I never know when you are talking to me or yourself. It's hard to tell. You are always talking. If I listened to everything that comes out of your mouth, I would get nothing done. :p" I wasn't offended by her remark, because we just tell each other how we feel at work. Very open dialog. But, that shut me up pretty fast. Got the point across that just cause I am wanting attention, doesn't mean that she's gonna give me it. It's just attention seeking behavior. Rise above it. And while you are rising above that...I'll work on shutting the hell up! haha!
