Listen LP I will never let the bible saturate my brain, I know that there is evil in this world and I do not need a book to tell me that.

If you want to help out people in need I suggest that you go to a homeless shelter and voulenteer your time, or maybe even volenteer at a animal shelter, that is rewarding in itself, helping real people real time, I do not need a book to tell me to do that so I am not judging anyone.

You can even support the troops by volenteering for disabled injured troops, you may not belive in the war but you can still support

Thanks for the advise though:o . I do what I can at this time this situation. You come to this religion forum to shut me up? or I begin to think you love me, always follow my post:p

Words are very powerful, sister. God's words created the world, and words from God are lights in a dark world.

I've often wondered about the origins of organized religion. My own theory is that the "afterlife" may in fact be a part of human evolution itself, something that helped make one tribe braver and more fierce in battle than other tribes. Maybe sometime back at the dawn of humanity, warriors needed to believe that getting killed in battle was nothing to fear....maybe Amerikajin's had too much red wine this evening.

Just another example of utter hypocrisy on the hands of the religious. I mean, there is the commandment "thou shall not kill" and yet people kill in the name of religion all the time, and the strongest supporters of war are usually the most religious.

I don't feel sorry for those soldiers at all, they are volunteers they knew perfectly well what they were getting into and many enjoy killing, torturing, raping - which is why I am glad when I hear about american soldiers being killed.

You have a very simplistic idea of what a military is, and what it does. I tend to agree that American culture tends to lionize warriors when it ought to be a bit more reflective on the causes of war to begin with, but your comments make me doubt that you know anyone who serves in a military. I've met a lot of fine people in the military - including members of my own family. I've also met people who've served in the all-volunteer Canadian and UK militaries. You may hate the military but it is a necessary evil - almost every country that I know of has one. The question always is one of whether or not the people who control the military are using them in an ethical manner.

This is MY theory:p , well, before I got saved.

Through thousands and thousands years, lands changed, greatest kings died and usually people don't even remember them, but God is always in people's life, and a very important part. why? because God is a living God, He constantly reminds us about this.

Have you ever heard about Holy Spirit cured people whose disease were thought uncurable? and Holy Spirit taught people about God, and changed people so remarkably? Just like Bible said. there are so many witnesses to tell similar stories. Just many people didn't pay attention to these things. sometimes even it is a miracle, people will ignore it.

Yes, I had. I was born in a communist family and a communist country. My country old times people believe in Budda, but most people don't believe it now. One thing I can tell "without God is a not good idea".

After I knew there is a real loving and justice living God, I became the happiest person than ever. then why I consider to change to other views?

I agree: God is a living God.

Man created God in his own image.

lonelybird, I think you should explore different types of religious belief. Think about it: God spread people all throughout the world, and they lived for years far away from each other, and they developed their own unique belief systems, and their own Gods. How do we know that your religion is the "right" one?

I think Buddhism is a cool spirituality. I certainly don't agree with it entirely, but I think that we can all take something from Buddhism. We can all take something useful from Christianity, Judaism, B'hai, Islam and other religions. I think we have to be open-minded. Sometimes, the answers are within ourselves.

I kept open mind read some other religions under the guide of Holy Spirit. but in the end I return back.

Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left, your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." Then you will defile your silver-covered idols and your gold-plated images. You will scatter them like filthy rags; you will say to them, "Away with you!"

The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.

But also this is my point that religion can bring people together but alos it can tear people apart....

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, (2 Corinthians 6:17)

There is division; Jesus calls His own out from amongst.

We are separate from.

God Bless*

Man broadens his horizons until he cant see. There are so many other ways man can find God based on his own knowledge. The enlargement of various spiritual routes and other gods is overwhelming; many loose their way through manmade maze.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:14)

Love Hurts :D good to see you

It's interesting you mention division here. I thought this last night. I think it is The Lord who "divide", means afterlife He will divide people and decide who go to heaven who go to hell. It is NOT our job to divide people. Our job is that tell the good news, Love our neighbors as ourselves. Bible didn't say our neighbors must be believers. but on the contrary tell us to love our enemy (who offend us). maybe you meant this?

You may be brainwashed. Study the history of Jesus and of the spread of Christianity before you go preaching to me and others about what I should believe. What you've written was written by man, not by God.

If we did not love our enemies or our brothers the word of God would cease to flow out to others. If not how would we know of Christ?

Still there is a separation as believers call out from across a line. Believers call out for other to come to Christ.

Jesus said feed my sheep and come out from amongst…

Those that hunger tell them.

As Christ calls out to the world… once you belong to Him… He tells you; you are mine come out from the world and follow Him; If this is not division I do not know what is?

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16)

Discern and judge where and who without condemnation… know...lest we be mislead.

You would have done well to have your behind spanked years ago.

Do you even know the history of Christianity? Do you know the history of the Bible?

Your comments are exactly why I can't take Christianity seriously. I think Jesus must be related to Vince McMahon.

Oh, I know, I know -- bad things are going to happen to me now. I'm going to die, right? Newsflash: everybody dies. Bad things happen everyday, with or without Christ.

Lots of people live very happy, peaceful lives without Christ in it.

Oh my, such violence from an alleged christian...tsk tsk...ever heard of turning the other cheek?

See that right there is an example of religious hypocrisy. While on paper every religion is peaceful, in reality they go hand in hand with violence which you just showed LH.

I think Jesus probably said things along those lines. We have a tendency to want to recreate Jesus and make him very accepting and progressive, but that doesn't fit well into the historical context of that time.

It's not a coincidence that the most violent places on earth right now are also the most religious. It's not a coincidence that the Bible Belt states are among the more violent states in the U.S. If people would take education as half as seriously as they took religion we'd have far fewer problems in this world.

Rather than getting defensive, I think those who are ultra-religious ought to educate themselves on how their religion came to be.

Proverbs 22:15

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Proverbs 15:10

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

We all need correction in our lives my friend.

I dont feel AS sad for them soldiers out there as I did.

Its not their FAULT they are there, but when they make it so nice and comfy for them:

The Green Zone where they live in Bagdhad has a Burger King AND a Pizza Hut.

And unlimited pork products to satisfy their non-muslim bellies.

i mean SHEESH.

Where is your taxpayers money going statesiders?

BK in a warzone. Excellent.

While Iraqis are struggling with things like basic sanitation?

It's not like the Green Zone is the Shangri La.

I definitely do feel for the troops. At the same time, I think there is more than enough suffering to go around. I also think the troops are being used as political pawns by the right wing.

nothing like getting your limbs shot off in Iraq then spending 6 months in Walter Reed Hosp recouperating. Talk about putting salt on the wound.

None of these politicians care about the troops, but they must LOOK like they care.
