Manipulated and betrayed!

Recommended Posts

A conceived individual has a right to life.

You will be a fantastic Mother!!!.! You will not yet be able to realise the depths of love, compassion and self sacrifice that you will achieve and feel for your child.

Give this man no further thought!

Enjoy your pregnanacy for as a woman that is a unique gift you have.

Be strong and give that baby.. all too soon to be a toddler... and then a teenager...... all the love you can muster... for you will NOT EVER REGRET the time you spend your child.

The love between a mother and child is True Love!

Trust me,.... you are going to be absolutley fine! it wont be easy , but life isnt easy. but it's all about how you look at it.

Wake up every day and tell yourself... " I can do today!" and when you go to bed at night say " I did today... I learnt from this that or the other, but i coped and tomorrow... I'll do it again!"

I wish you all the very best in life that you wish and want for yourself.

@Desertmoon - I am glad I am not in the US given that physicians there still do Victorian genital mutilation to babies, but you would already know about that working in the medical field?

WHOAH!!! "victorian genital mutilation of babies?"--victorian, eh? sounds English to me .. just kidding. You probably mean Female genital circumscision, right? Well, obviously you are misinformed. I won't tell you the origins of FGC (too long) but I am pretty sure the English during Queen Victoria's time did not start it or made it "popular"--although of course, if they want to take credit for it, well, by all means....!!!:bunny:

I will only tell you a few things about FGC in the US. It is illegal. It is considred a form of abuse and a fragrant violation of human rights. So much so , that I do believe that if you are from one of those countries that practices this type of thing you may apply for asylum to the US because you are considred 'persecuted". No physician in his/her right mind would perform an FGC when he knows he most certainly will either 1) lose his medical license 2) go to jail 3) get sued for everything he has or all three.

However, does it happen in the US? yes, it does. I won't go into that here because I think it will be easier for you to google it. Google: Genital Mutilation US.

By the way, Shulky, you DO know USA is not in the continent of Africa, don't you?

WTF! No way will we take credit for mutilation . Just like the USA, it is not legal here either.

Shulky - England/UK (whatever you want to call it) but where Victoria was Queen is also not in Africa.

Oh please! You obviously do not know cultural/religious practices in Africa were in place a long time before the British Empire.

LOL!!!!!!:laugh::laugh:! Anne, i was teasing you!

On the serious side, I do know the cultural/religious practices in the places that the British invaded were already lonnnnnnng established. But like I said above I won't go into the details of the origins of FGC.

Anyway, NoIDidnt...yes, I am curious why Shulky brought this up? Maybe she googled "raising good daughters" and a site from some Darfurian organization came up and mentioned genital mutilation as a good way of controlling your daughter <shrug>!

Just to clarify. We're not the only country who has invaded other countries. Some still do it. But that would be another thread :p

You are right about the above, Anne-no apologies there, it is about power and dominance and we thank the British Gov for helping us expand our interests.:p!

Male circumcision also started in England as a medical cure for masturbation (a sexual activity, but not a prestigious one)

http://www.cirp.org/pages/whycirc.html

Ann: I'll take "Bizarre Rituals" for $500, Alex.

Jeopardy Question: <<According to Kellogg, “circumcision in infancy is a good remedy for masturbation, it helps in most cases. It is important to perform surgery without using any anaesthetic so that pain during an operation may affect the mind. It would be good if pain could be also associated with the idea of punishment. Cauterizing the clitoris with carbolic acid can help women combat the perverted ways of getting sexual pleasure.” (John Harvey Kellogg, M.D., “Treatment for Self-Abuse and its Effects,” Plain Fact for Old and Young. Burlington , Iowa : F. Segner & Co. (1888). p. 295) . >>

Ann: "What prompted Americans to start circumcising their little boys in the US over 100 years ago?"

Alex Trebek: That is correct!

If you are going to quote text, use it properly. From the very first line of your article:

Routine circumcision as a preventative or cure for masturbation was proposed in Victorian times in America.

Even then circumcision did not start in America (or the UK) as has already been indicated to you.

Your article then goes on to say (in the first para):

None of these countries now circumcise the majority of their male children, a distinction reserved today for the United States (in the UK, in fact, nonreligious circumcision has virtually ceased).

You initially stated:

@Desertmoon - I am glad I am not in the US given that physicians there still do Victorian genital mutilation to babies, but you would already know about that working in the medical field?

Well here's a link to paediatric guidelines in the USA. It's a little bit more recent than the stuff you are quoting:

http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;103/3/686

Get your facts straight next time.

Physicians there still do it to babies and it was introduced for the same kind of reasons they cut up the clit on little girls.

OK so I have given you evidence that male circumcision is a parental choice in the USA and you have been told that female circumcision is illegal. So where is your evidence to support your belief?

Edit: Just seen that you have updated your post. So your evidence is a report from 1915?

A quote from your reference:

Shulky, your ignorance shines through. Don't engage in a war of wits when you're clearly uprepared for battle, mmmm'k? You had a girl anyway, so why are you even bringing up male circumcision? Not that I give a rat's ass what your opinion on it is, anyway.

And lastly, let's hope you've learned your lesson - maybe next time you meet a "handsome stranger," you'll wait more than 2 hours before dropping your drawers for him.

Shulky,

Circumcision has NOTHING to do with your situation. Like you mentioned before, you have a little girl. And then you bring up little boys?!

Forget getting into the nonsense of your posts, something is bothering you. If you care to share it, someone is willing to listen and perchance provide you will their perspective and some support.
