trying to get a phone number....

So I was rejected by this girl

(I just told her how I felt about her through email before knowing her which was big mistake)

 

We talk sometimes when we see each other in campus though.

 

I want to get her phone number so we can chat little bit and do text messaging to get to know more before I ask her out.

 

Here is the question. She knows my phone number.

 

If I ask her number this way, would it be acceptable or ridiculous?

 

me 'so you have my phone number right?'

her 'yeah sure'

me 'why don't you give me your phone number then'

her 'hm why?'

me 'because you have mine and it's fair to have yours too'

her 'WTF?' (thinking)

 

so how ya think? is there more natural way to ask her phone number?

How about "Hey, I was wondering if I could give you a call sometime so we can talk a little more"? If she says "no" or "I don't think so", then you know where you stand.

 

The other way does seem a little rediculous. I mean, who wants to give or receive a phone number only because it's "fair"?

Ask her can I have your phone number so we can talk about biology or any dumb subject u want. If she says no yeah move on buddy.

How does she know your number? Or did you give it to her?

 

Anyway I guess the most straightforward way is to say 'Hey whats your phone number?'

 

I'll give you a short story of something that happened on Friday. So there is this girl in my Chemistry tutorial (at uni). The first time I had the tute I didn't really talk to her directly but I did give her some eye contact.

When I went to my physics tute on the thursday I found out she was in it aswell. So I talked to her afterwards and got to know her name and whatever.

So in the Friday just gone I turned up before the tutorial and she was there. We talked and ended up sitting next to each other.

Anyway afterwards on the tram I ask her 'Hey do you have MSN?' as I didn't really want to ask for her number yet as we had talked two times. She was like I don't have a computer yet (as shes from another state). So I said something like 'what about a mobile?" And she said yeah, and then we sort of look at each other weirdly. I realised that I hadn't really asked her yet.

I said 'Can I have it?' and shes like 'sure' said it out.

Then shes like whats yours? And I'm like I'll call you. Done and done

The only thing I find odd is if she already has your # then I asume you at some point gave it to her. And maybe if she hasent called you at all then theres your anser right there. I may be wrong there but just a guess unless she got it from a mutual friend kinda thing. That can be akward I got a call like that once and kinda thu me for a loop. But if I'm wrong for some reason and you think you should try I agree. Ease into it ask for the number so you can talk about something you to might have in common..

Chalk this up as experience and move on. Next time you meet a girl, get her number asap not weeks/months later.

You could open a tension loop (start an interesting conversation) and right before the climax say, "Let's continue when I have more time. Call me."
