How do you honestly feel about over weight people

Why do YOU need to park close? You're laughing at them for not wanting to walk more than 5 feet so that YOU could have the spot? Sorry, but you're not making sense. I always park further from the entrance, cuz it's good to walk and less chances for some idiot driver to scratch your car - cuz it's emptier.

All laws are what society thinks is important. In this case they would normally level a fine. But if you resist they may try to sieze your car or tax refund. If you still resist a cop is sent to arrest. If you still resist cop may be forced to kill you to enforce society wanting its disabled to have a close parking space.

 

The conflict is that we are not sure if we agree that fat is a disability or if some civil servant just made the call according to his will.

it makes me angry that certain grossly obese people are applying for, and getting, permits to park in handicapper parking spots. These people need more exercise and now they legally get to park in the best spots right next to the place of business. I rarely see people in wheelchairs using these spots....its usually obese people who get winded walking 5 feet.

 

 

When in reality, they should be parked the FURTHEST AWAY> they need the exercise for christ sake. So now they get even get less exercise and balloon up some more.

Good point alpha but would you condone calling one a whale becasue of it?? My main arguremnt here has been and always will be the sterrio types and ingorance that we endure do you justiey that by saying were all unhealthey?? All so there paying more taxes but were paying much higher health insurance rates..Were also paying for it in other aspects of life IE higher clothing prices and im sure other increses we may not even know about..

And the ones that ARE there only go up to a NZ size14 (I think thats a US size12?) Most of the cheaper clothing shops in NZ DEFINITELY cater to larger people. Try the Warehouse, its where everyone gets a bargain.

And in the UK, most plus size fahion lines are as affordable and competitively priced as any other high street brands.Some are even noticeably cheaper! I am sure in the US where obesity os on the increase there are more than enough moderately priced plus size clothing stores.

So sorry, but that argument doesn't wash with me at all.

And with respect to higher health insurance, you are not alone. Smokers pay more, sportspeople pay more, people with previous illnesses pay more, people with family histories of disease pay more, etc etc etc.

I always get excited when I find something I like that's been knocked down to bargain price and is actually in my size. In most sales, it seens as though the majority of things on offer are in size 18 to 22.....so I'd definitely second the motion that plus size women often find it easier to pick up a bargain when they're shopping for clothes.

Ain't that the truth. Most great bargains in the sales are either plus size or tiny sizes, as the average sizes sell first, and shops don't usually need to get rid of them at the end of the season..

Isn't that unfair! boo hoo discrimination against average sized people.

2 many threads for me to read them all...the topic seemed to go down hill anyway. my experience with morbidly obese. 2 people, my x wife and my sister.

1st, my x wife. we met she was 160 at 5'2" and bragged that she had lost 60lbs and had 30 more to go. she was bubbly and so forth and said all the right things. she stopped losing immediately and as soon as we married started gaining. her weight was not the reason for our divorce but the effects of her obesity. she felt she had to dress like a clown wearing bright colors, flamboyant, gaudy costume jewelry. rings on every finger, high dollar hair colors, Yellow car....everything was look at me! she laughed real loud and in fact 'snorted' like a bull when she laughed. she had real low self esteem ...i'm guessing because of her weight. my counselor told me that her problems were deep rooted and manifested long before she ever new me and probably from childhood. she was probably 230 when she left me. her obesity affected our marriage in that she never had any energy. she would come home and lay down to rest before anything else. i did the cooking and cleaning because she was to 'tired' to do either. sex was virtually no existent. i'd roll over next to her and she would move away because i was too hot next to her. i'd put my arm over her to find a boob and i couldn't find one because of the fat rolls. she literally looked like the Michelan man or the pillsbury dough boy. not trying to be crude or ugly, just the facts here. as for me, it is real hard to get worked up for a fat woman when i prefer the hardbody that God designed. this isa totally depressing me so i won't get into my sister (650 lbs) at this time. i'll post later if anyone is interested.

As for your salad lunch, does that salad include breaded and fried chicken, croutons, cheese, high fat dressing, etc.? If so, all the salad talk is just a smoke screen.

Yeah...that's pretty tricky. There was an article online showing the "worst of the worst" fast foods. Among them were many of McDonald's new "premium salads", Taco Bell's taco salad and some chicken sandwiches. Usually people think chicken sandwich is better than hamburger, but not so fast!!

the funniest thing about restaurants (both fast & regular) is that the healthiest items on their menus are also usually the most expensive ones. thats even less incentive to eat healthy.

 

yesterday I got a Chix BLT salad and a lg. chili from Wendys. It was almost $7.00 and had no drink. I could have save $2 by getting the cheeseburger combo that had fries & drink but double triple the fat.

yea will the chix is grilled not fried. and i got lo-cal ranch dressing. still, it had probably 500 calories total. which beats the 800 cals in a double cheeseburger.

 

oh and i did not put in the bag of croutons. 70 cals saved
