luvtoto
Should you ever offer a guy your phone number, even if they didn't ask for it? Would it make the woman appear over-aggressive. Would it spoil the thrill of the chase? If you get that vibe from a guy that they are interested, is it ok to just offer your phone number to them to help them along? I guess I know some women that would do that...and I don't know how they are perceived by the guy. I'm thinking, if they are interested...they'd would just ask. Right? amaysngrace
I would never give a guy my unsolicited phone number but I might ask him for his I guess if I were really interested but I didn't ever do that before. But if I were the type of woman to offer my number to a guy then what's the big deal in asking the guy for his number?
Art_Critic
Everything isn't always about the thrill of the chase. sometimes games don't have to be tried to keep or get the interest.. Sometimes they do have to be played. I think it depends on the situation.. I myself would only consider someone giving me their phone number not appropriate if I had basically made it clear that i wasn't interested or they were married/in a relationship

But if I were the type of woman to offer my number to a guy then what's the big deal in asking the guy for his number? The funny thing is is that I am not the type to give out my number if not asked. I am also the type to not ask a guy for his number. I have also been told that I am intimidating to approach. (whatever that means...)
alphamale
The funny thing is is that I am not the type to give out my number if not asked. I am also the type to not ask a guy for his number. well that means you're a normal woman
Art_Critic
(whatever that means...) It means that you give off the perception that the chances of being rejected are very high.. too high to make it worth trying.. Maybe you look married... I do know that I can normally pick out a married woman and can almost always pick out a woman who is a mother...

Sometimes they do have to be played. I think it depends on the situation.. Yea...it's such a fine line. A delicate area. If I just let this chance encounter I've had with Barrett, just fizzle out, because he is too shy or I am too shy...then that would suck. That seems to be a pattern for me. Guy shows interest and I do SOMETHING to make him lose interest. I have had guys that I did end up dating, tell me that they thought I wasn't interested..when I was! I did reach out to them to date them, but then of course...they lost interest. Ugh. Then ya wonder why I am single. I myself would only consider someone giving me their phone number not appropriate if I had basically made it clear that i wasn't interested or they were married/in a relationship Has any women ever beaten you to the punch, and given you their phone number without you asking for it? alphamale
Has any women ever beaten you to the punch, and given you their phone number without you asking for it? yes a few like maybe 10 or so. mostly they were desperate skanks and I never called any of 'em
Author luvtoto
how can you tell if a woman hasn't had sex in 6 months or if she's about to lose her mind? You referring to me? Well! According to you, alpha, you wanted to have sex with my mind last night! It means that you give off the perception that the chances of being rejected are very high.. too high to make it worth trying.. Maybe you look married... I do know that I can normally pick out a married woman and can almost always pick out a woman who is a mother... Yea, I can relate with you there. I mean, even I assumed he was married when I first met him.

Author luvtoto
ahh i was hittin' the sauce last nite So, anyways....I just had my coworker/friend come into my office and tell me that I needed to call him. She has his phone number. What!?! She saw how he acted when he was in here yesterday, and she is pushing me to make a move. She said he is shy. Oh man. I don't know if I can do that. amaysngrace
Are you interested in him? That's what you have to figure out first. If you are then maybe you should give him your number. But if he's really shy how do you know he's not going to be too shy to call? I still say ask him for his number. And then when you've put him on the spot like that you can gauge his reaction to your asking. He may completely reject you or he could be completely flattered. Either way you'll know which vibe you're getting.
monkey00
If i was interested in a girl i wouldnt mind if she was the one to give me her # first. But in the case that im not interested in a girl, whether or not she gives me her # without me asking for it wouldnt change a thing.
Author luvtoto
WTF is this? High school? Do you really want a guy who has nothing in his nutsack? Hey! Let me savor these moments, alpha. I am pushing 40, and this might be the last shot I have at experiencing any resemblance of a giddy school girl crush. Ain't like I see him every freakin' day at school. I mean, the next time I talk to him or even see him for that matter, I am gonna have to have my **** together. If I'm too busy wondering what I'm supposed to be doing, he's gonna think I am not interested in him.
Author luvtoto
Are you interested in him? That's what you have to figure out first. Very interested. If you are then maybe you should give him your number. But if he's really shy how do you know he's not going to be too shy to call? Now that is a good point. I still say ask him for his number. And then when you've put him on the spot like that you can gauge his reaction to your asking. I doubt if I'll ever see him again. I mean, how many times is he gonna come into where I work, and not look obvious? He doesn't seem like the desperate type. I may have already missed my chance. I just played it too cool when he was in. Should've just made an ass out of myself, and put my number on the table. Like AC said. I put too much effort into weighing out the rejection meter, to just take a risk. If i was interested in a girl i wouldnt mind if she was the one to give me her # first. But in the case that im not interested in a girl, whether or not she gives me her # without me asking for it wouldnt change a thing. Cool.
tanbark813
Should've just made an ass out of myself, and put my number on the table. It kind of boils down to this. There have been times I've asked a girl out or for her number or whatever and got shot down but not once have I regretted giving it a shot.

Author luvtoto
It kind of boils down to this. There have been times I've asked a girl out or for her number or whatever and got shot down but not once have I regretted giving it a shot. I've always been a firm believer of the phrase: when in doubt, do nothing. So, things are kinda going against the grain here. I mean, yes, I want a guy that has the balls to ask me out. But, the only time we've been in each other's presence is when lots of people have been around. The phone rang about two times when he came in, plus I had that older lady talking to him. On Monday, my receptionist was there. I don't want it to be like, "Hey, can I have your phone number? oh, wait. I have to answer the phone..just a sec." Have your co-worker call him and set you two up. Have her make him believe you know nothing about it! Think High School here just this one time.......get that man luvtoto! I have to think that way at this point. My coworker keeps saying that he needs to call him. But, I doubt if he will. But, then again...I think my coworker is more excited about me getting hooked up with this guy than I am. He told me, "When I am happy...everybody at the office is happy." amaysngrace
"When I am happy...everybody at the office is happy." I bought my daughter a pretty ceramic plaque for her 8th birthday that reads: "if the princess ain't happy ain't nobody happy" I feel your co-workers pain. Go get laid. IpAncA
We'll you take your sexy a** and ask the damn man. If he's shy then he's not going to just come out and ask like it's nothing. I waited one time for a guy to ask me and I was determined not to ask. Well it turns out that he asked me in a "round about way" and idiot me didn't pick up on it. Ugh..."round about way." And like you said your pushing 40. How many decent single men do you think are going to pop up on your door? Probably not many. Sometimes honey you have to grab life by the balls and just do it. Worse case your alone. You are now so it doesn't matter.
