He asks if he can at least e-mail me once a week or once a month That's the same exact thing he said to his ex when he was seeing you. This guy has a major ego-problem which stems from either insecurity, immaturity or both. Thing is, the only way he can fix this is for him to goto counseling by himself and basically grow up. If he treats you like this now and you tolerate it, expect it to happen in the future. Right now he is testing your boundaries and to see how far you will bend. Thinking his puppy dog eyes and his way of pulling your heart strings is all that you need so that he can still see both of you. Sounds like his ex has done this to him. This is emotional abuse and usually ones who are abused do the abusing later in life. This is now what he is doing. No contact is the best route and to start moving on with your life. Though I know it hurts it's best you find this out now then before marriage. Exs are exs for a reason and this is one of many reasons why trying to stay in contact with an ex is no good. Leading him on, telling him how much she cared but that she just wasn't ready to put her heart into a relationship yet. Blah. People suck. Sounds like his ex has done this to him. I had a nightmare day at work and really was five seconds from walking out on the job. I tried calling everyone I could in my cell phone but no one could talk or would answer. I finally called him because I was in tears. =/ Please could someone tell me why women are so stupid? Has anyone really used psych meds like anti-anxiety or whatever to get through the first few weeks or months of a break up like this? I literally feel like I'm losing my mind, especially when I'm at home by myself at night trying to get ready for sleeping. I'll do fine for two hours but then literally I just break down like a damned alcoholic in withdrawal.
