break up & WIN back

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone, I used that title hope to attract someone come in here to look this post and discuss about it. any contribution and discussion would be welcomed:)

Big ego cause MAJOR problems in our lifes. expecially in our dating life.

The more you hold on to Big ego, the more difficult you let the hurt (come from bruised ego) go. I didn't mean the hurt caused by the lost of loved one. e.g

if one of our loved one died, we grieve. our ego usually wouldn't be bruised by this kind of loss.

If we break up with someone, if we really LOVE them, and if we have a small ego, although we grieve, but same time we wish they can have better life even that means without us in it.

But most of time, our ego comes into play. We want to win them back, we couldnot help calling them even they told us not to, we stalk them, we hate them, we destroy their lifes, we are mad if they find a new partner again! and make ourselves miserable, seems we cannot get out of it forever!

Why do some people tend to love the one who hurt them the most? because the one hurt them the most hurt their ego deeply. And they try to change the one to restore their ego, but in the end they are hurt more. It is like down side spiral.

So why do people hold on their ego so strongly? because they define themselves by their ego. They thought their confidence and their survival technique in this world base on their ego which can be feed by outside element: money, other people's attention and love, power, beauty.... If lack of these that they think the most important thing, their confidence decrease.

That's why people define themselves by outside elements--ego is not good idea. People should define themselves by inside element-Spirit, who comes from God, loved by God. When you begin to define yourself by spirit not by ego, you will find it is easier "let it go". you begin to learn to surrender to higher source, you begin to humble yourself, you begin to give up the need to control EVERYTHING. you begin to enjoy the waves of life. Inflexibility is easily broken, but flexibility endure change. Sometimes I think people's growth process is like a process of decreasing their ego. If you don't choose to decrease your ego, outside happening outside elements beyond your control will decrease your ego and pride, and usually these happenings are not desirable. So don't hold onto outside elements and ego seem a smart move.

some of the most successfull people have big egos, but they know how to manage them.

If they didn't then I think it would cause problems.

Drugs and alcoholism, an un nurtirung environment growing up, lack of a good education, poverty, and religious wars cause more problems then a big ego.

Lonelybird That is a very Buddist type of essay.

 NO, it comes from here

Mt 10:39(2)Those who try to gain their own life will lose it; but those who lose their life for my sake will gain it.

Buddist avoid any flesh desires by sitting there ALL day long and meditate. Except of nun and monk who can rise into heaven, other people only can have reincarnation. they think if they do good works this life, then maybe they will be born in a rich family next life in this world. if they do bad things, they will be born as a dog, or a tree in next life...

But Christian live life through being led by spirit. Christian don't deny flesh desires, but flesh is led by Spirit, NOT led by flesh.

What you are saying here LB is so very true.....

Ego in this sense equals pride and arrogance, and demonstrates a lack of self control and extreme emotional immaturity.

What many do not understand is humility is the key. Many see humility as being weak or a weakness, when in all actuality humility is power and strength, which in turn leads to wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
