My temp supervisor gave me a bad review (lied) to my contact..

I've temped at that company several times in the past and recently - and I've done nothing but do my best at the job, quickly and efficiently with no difficulties. And sometimes when there isnt work (yea the company can be slow at times), ill greet the other co-workers and do a little chat (who says temps cant mingle?)

A week earlier before i stopped working there, my supervisor asked what my plans were after graduation. I told her that anything in my field would be wonderful - she asked to see my portfolio and showed it to her on the web.

At that point i thought she was considering me as a potential candidate as an employee at their firm since she was interested enough to see my work. she didnt bring up the topic about any open positions so i didnt make a big deal out of it and went back to work.

The last couple days working there, i thought why not? i like the people there and i do the job well and I could really use a stable job. So i asked if there were any open positions in her company, she then asked me what type of position. and i mentioned the position i was currently in. She didnt say anything so i didnt push it and went back to work.

A couple weeks later, the same company was looking for a temp again. My contact went about to getting me in again but it didnt happen (well anyway my agency has a buckload of other temps available).

Doesnt matter now as i have another gig, but my contact said my previous supervisor at the company said i was slow at the computer program - I knew she lied about it...And i was just shocked hearing it. funny thing is, that same supervisor gave me an excellent review the first time i was there.

But anyway I never realized asking if there were open positions in the company would hurt my career, apparently it did...
