RecordProducer
hmm...i don't think I've even seen any african-americans sun bathing.I have! I think tanning is great! It helps my skin because I suffer from extreme razor burn and heat bumps What's razor burn and skin bumps? Why don't you just spend some time in the sun? I think this is how most people around here get tanned, anyways. It's fun. It's free. And it also helps your body naturally generate vitamin D. Doctors have spent a few decades explaining why we should stay away from the sun... did you oversleep this period?
Author allina
Women are funny, why do we feel thinner tan???? RP, razon burn is when you get skin irritation after shaving.

My Fair Katie
I'm Irish and fair skinned. I don't tan, occassionally if I'm outside working in the yard and forget the sunscreen I turn a bit red. I like me just fine the way I am. And I figure when my friends (who are addicted to tanning) are old and leather faced I'll still have lovely porcelin skin. Unless I get hit by a bus tomorrow. D*mn that'd suck.
2sunny
Allina - I usually go to the tanning salon at the start of good weather (he he - that should be year round) - but really within a few weeks from now I will go. I go maybe 3-4 times just to get myself started as far as a jump start and not having to go to the beach so white. Then I just lay out in the sun 2-3 times a week for about an hour each time - and I tend to keep up with a great tan through October... I tend to tan very easily and get a nice rich brown tone fairly readily. Hope that helps...
RecordProducer
Women are funny, why do we feel thinner tan???? Darker colors make any object thinner. It's an optical illusion. Dressed in white an average woman will look fatter than dressed in black (if the clothes are the same). Everyone looks thinner with a tanned skin.

Pyro
Warm weather is here, time for warm weather clothes, and for me, time for a tan. I know some people think it's stupid but I feel better and more attractive when I have a nice tan. I like tanning booths but everyone here seems to think they are the son of satan and advise against them. Are they really that bad for you?? Even if used once in a while for a couple months a year? Really? By the time I'm 40 won't they have some crap on the market that can fix the damage anyways? What do you guys consider a good tanning alternative? I've done the mist tan and it was dissapointing at best. I don't want to look orange, i don't wanna look blotchy and i don't want my skin to stain the white couch. Thanks I don't think that it would be bad, as long as its not done in excess. Why not just lay out in the sun? I will usually lay out in the sun poolside in the summer. I am somewhat dark complected, so it really brings out my color.
Motor35
About tanning beds...I hear one session in a bed is just like spending the whole day in the sun. The sun can be good for you in moderation. Good for acne, healing scars and hiding cellulite (or making it less obvious).

VinaAmez
Personally I stay away from those places. I either lay out in the sun or use sunless tanning lotion.
Porn_Guy
this neighbour of my dads has been laying out in the sun even since i can remember (1974?)....she's now like 65 and looks like a skinny dried up prune. but she looked great 20 yrs ago. guess it don't matter what u look like when you're old. FireandIce
I love tanning but not in the sun. I can't handle the hot sun for very long so I use a tanning bed for a few months a year before summer hits. I feel so much better about myself and look fantastic with a nice tan. luvtoto
I am still wanting to give my product review on Xen-Tan. However, I still have not received it yet. It's been on backorder due to the inability to keep the product in stock.

EC
The solarium also gives you an orange tan. I wouldn't count on researchers finding effective treatment to cure skin cancer in 15 years. I use L'Oreal's SUBLIME GLOW Daily Moisturizer for Medium tones. It's great. I put it on and go to sleep. In the morning I take a shower. Unless you have white sheets, it won't leave a stain. The stains can be washed anyway. Buy darker colored sheets and save money, time, and health. It takes 5 minutes to put the cream on. It looks very, very natural and evenly spread on your skin. I use this all the time and I it! It gives my skin a nice tan look with no harmful rays and no orange look. Its great. I also put it on at night after a shower and then shower it off in the morning. Sometimes I will do the spray on tan if I have a photoshoot or something for an extra sexy look. As for tanning bed..I have mixed feelings. I know they can be harmful but I was actually told by a few dermatologists to use them because I have Atopic Dermatitis and it helps prevent Flareups. So I dunno I go once a month to a tanning booth and my flareups have stopped completely.

So I dunno I go once a month to a tanning booth and my flareups have stopped completely. My father had really bad back acne when I was young. A doctor told him to use a sunlamp in winter and to try to get as much direct sunlight in warmer months by mowing grass or washing cars shirtless. Apparently the sun dries up these skin problems. This was long before tanning beds were around.

luvtoto
oh,...I couldn't resist. I tried some on my leg. My leg is instantly tan, doesn't smell, and isn't greasy. The color is very natural, which is not normal for me. The color permanently develops in three hours. Usually, the color always turns orange or won't look natural at all. I think I am going to like this stuff. I will see how much will wash off when I shower tonight.
luvtoto
Ok, this morning, after my shower...I realized that I had a very nice tan. If could get tan lines with this product. Very intense, natural looking tan. One more application and I will be as dark as the middle of summer. I think that next time, I will try the spray-on-mist, or the mouse...maybe. But before I order, I am going to check to see if it's in stock!!! I used Xen-Tan dark lotion.

Upon checking this stuff out, I was thinking "pricey" at $39 (plus shipping) for 8 oz., but if two applications gives a nice dark tan it may very well be worth the price. I pay $45 a month for unlimited tanning bed visits. With that I also get the UV exposure, skin aging, etc. It takes a good two months for me to get where I want to be in the way of darkness, then once weekly visits to keep me there at $5 a pop. Xen-Tan doesn't seem much more expensive, and is much safer in the long run. More updates would be nice. The sunless tanners I have tried tended to get streaky on my legs due to shaving. I'm interested to know your satisfaction level after three weeks or so.
