However, I'm a bit behind on some bills and will be taking a part time job up to pay off some old debts. Part of me wants to remain in the relationship while I do this but the other part of me knows that I won't have much free time to devote to her. She's already told me a few weeks ago she is getting a part time job to pay off some stuff of her own so she can get her own place (she's 27 living with the folks). This doesn't make for much time in a relationship if we are going to both be working part time jobs. It's a lot of stress in a new relationship. What would you suggest I do? I'm not even sure how to approach this woman about it. I know me telling her that I want to focus on paying off some old bills and that we should take a bit of a break sounds kinda immature and selfish. I've talked to several folks, they just tell me the same thing. If I'm having trouble paying on debts, I don't need a girlfriend because being in a relationship requires additional expense. I guess what I'm saying here is I'm confused on how to best approach things with this woman. I don't want to lose her forever, but i don't think the timing is good now. She has her whole world wrapped up in me and I feel like an a-hole having to do this to her. Link to post Share on other sites
