Engaged question

Recommended Posts

Okay,I bought her a ring and I proposed to her and she said yes. Been engaged for a few months now. Question: Is it time for her to buy me a ring? or do I have to buy myself one. Because i get hit on by so many girls at work...

No - the ring men wear is a wedding ring - they don't get engagement rings. You don't get your wedding ring until you actually get married.

I'm surprised you keep getting hit on at work - usually word spreads that you are engaged once you turn down the first couple of women.

They do actually make engagement rings for guys now. There isn't any protocol about how it is supposed to work because they are so new. I'd say that if you want one, talk to your fiance about it and the two of you decide how it's going to work. Otherwise just keep turning down the women and wait until you've said "I do" to start wearing a ring. Generally couples go together to pick out their wedding rings, especially if they want them to match in any type fashion.

Congrats on the engagement! It is such an exciting time of life. :D

i was just faced with the same problem kind of.

me and my boyfriend are getting engaged and last night he asked me who buys the engagement ring for him. and i asked a few people, and they said men dont get engagement rings, if i get one... then why doesnt he. We are BOTH getting married. but my take on it is, if you spend a few thousand dollars on a engagement ring for her. why cant she spend a few hundred to get one for you? so i think she should buy it for you.

How big is your work? I agree with the poster that said news of your engagement should have spread by now. Every one in my building knows that I'm engaged. I hope you're not doing anything to provoke the girls into hitting on you.

As for the male engagement ring, today's the first I've ever heard of it. They might exist, but they're not very common. If you haven't already, the two of you can go out shopping and find a wedding band you like. She can pay for that for you.

I always believed that men do not get engagement rings. They get the ring at the wedding.

p.s. Back the women off BIG-TIME. By this time, they all should know you're engaged. If they don't...make it loud and clear. Women can be ruthless!

If he's engaged, I'd have thought they'd have been together for a while already. So how come the women don't know he's not available anyway?! Sounds worrying to me!!! They should already have known you were off the market. You should have made that clear even before you got engaged surely?!!
