napoleandynamite
I got a new job. However, I am no longer working in an office. Now, I'm a Day Hab Specialist, working in a classroom setting with people with MR/DD. I've only been at my new job for a few weeks. Personally, I feel I'm doing well and since this is somewhat annonymous, I can honestly say I LOVE MY JOB. I love teaching people with developmental disabilities and interacting with them to help them reach their goals. I felt like I should have been doing this all along. My co-workers and supervisors said I'm doing well and all. The only problem I have is I'm scared. I know I sound enthusiastic, but deep down, as much as I love this work and no matter how much I feel that this is where I fit, I'm scared of being fired again. Guess by looking at my previous posts, you can tell I lost a lot of jobs within the year. At all of my prior jobs, some of which I liked (not LOVED like I do my new job), and felt I was doing well, and then I get slammed in the face with the "oh, we're letting you go...we know you tried, but you don't cut it". Also, with my prior (office) jobs, I have heard "what a great job I was doing" then, they let me go a few weeks later. I know this is a different field and everything, but what can I do to stop worrying about loosing this job? And to be frank, I felt no matter what job I have ever, no matter how hard I try, I just can't cut it because I can't do anything right. I'm just freakin' because I'm very happy here at my new job. I love the work, I feel like it is my niche, I get along with the other employees, so I'm just worried. Any suggestions on how or what I could do to stop worrying so much? I love my job and I want it to stay that way.
Touche
Hi, ND. I remember you from your previous posts. Don't worry because the fact that you LOVE this job will prevent you from messing up. You'll be paying attention more and be more focused because you're doing something you like doing. I never really thought office work was your thing. So you'll do fine. Just relax and focus on doing the very best job you can. Keep us posted too, ok?
