Lizzie60
Do you like your partner older or younger? and why What is the biggest age gap you had with someone you date or had a relationship with? Did it work on a long-term basis? Thanks!
Touche
I've always gone for older men. I think if I were single now I would probably date younger but my prefrence has always been towards older men. The biggest age difference was between my ex-H and I. We were 19 years apart. What's funny is that the smallest age difference between anyone I have ever dated and I, is with my current husband. We're about 6 1/2 years apart..almost 7. It's interesting to me that the person that I've been the closest to in age has also been my most successful relationship..(together 12 1/2 years.) Not sure if there is a correlation there or not.

dropdeadlegs
All of my serious relationships have involved men within two years of my age. I am usually younger, but I married a man two years younger. I am consistenetly attracted to my age, although I once entertained the idea of a man 19 years older, and a man 14 years younger. Neither got as far as sleeping together, I just couldn't make that step.
Touche
but you don't say who was the oldest in your relationships..you or him? OH, sorry, Lizzie. You're right. I never said who was older. My H is the older one.
IpAncA
Not to young to make me a perv and not to old to make me someone's midlife fling.
Starry-eyed
My STBX-H is 3 years older than I. The man I'm interested in and beginning a relationship with is 10 years older. Which is cool in many ways, except (or especially) that he went to high school in the 70s while I was in grade and middle school, so he really lived the teen life of long hair, bell bottoms, sideburns, miniskirts and pot. Just kinda funny.
ShoeGirl
I have always dated guys who are older than me, mostly because I am 3 years ahead in school so older guys are the ones I am around most of the time. The biggest gap was 5 years (I am 20 and he's 25), it didn't work out the first time, but we have been talking about getting back together so we'll see what happens.
hoopsy32
I'd have to say that I'd prefer guys that are older than me, just because I've always hung out with people that are older than me anyway. My bf is a little over 2 years older than me, but a guy that I had a thing for a while back was a little over 10 years older than me.
bab
The largest age gap was about 7 years, but it didn't get serious. (He was older). My H is older by a full month and 10 days!
Lezbean
My honeypie is 11 years older than me. I never really even think about it really. He looks fantastic and is in incredible shape. Meeeeoooooowwwww:o
hotgurl
I've always dated older men. my BF is 19 years older than me. No problems here we've been together 6 years and just bought a house. My only concern is whether or not his sex drive will take a nose dive later on.
Kwo-ne'-she
Older. Biggest age gap was 11 yrs. Usually the difference is around 5 -6 yrs, them older than me.
melodymatters
Hmm, seems like the "older man" is winning this horse race ! I too, used to go for older, but I had a very fun year and a half with a guy 9 yrs younger. The age thing wasn't a problem at all in that one, it was some other baggage he had ( which funnily enough I thought I would be AVOIDING with a younger guy !) Now, at 40, I would LOVE a guy in his 30's ! The men in their 40's tend to be too boring, too fat or bald, or have to much bitterness. I know thats a huge generalization, just what I've been meeting most of.
MWC_LifeBeginsAt40
If I'm old enough to be his mother, I won't date him. 16 years is what I consider old enough to be his mother. when I was 35 I was with a 22yr old (fling). The oldest would have been when I was 40, I was with a 49 yr old...no big deal. My range now is 38-50. I am 41 but my ideal range is 44-45. My last bf was 1.5 yrs younger and he was very immature, but he also was not a parent. I don't act my age either sometimes
Aussie65
I always dated much older men when I was say 18/19 but realise now that these guys got a very young naive girl, why wouldn't they love it?I guess I got karma in the end when I was married with two children and my ex was infactuated with a friends 17 yr old daughter....a lot of sneaking around later and a bit of PI on my behalf and divorced him.It did NOTHING for my self esteen I tell you. Touche
oh it would believe me when they throw tantrums like one Yes, you have a point. I have a young male friend who does that. But then all I have to do is ignore him for awhile until he decides to be nice again. Works for me. You just have to know when to put them in the naughty corner.
