jamesdean007
My ex and i work at the same place. it has been 9 months since we broke up. during this time, we had minimal conversations together. During this time, sometimes we laughed and politely talked to one another. (I have been looking for another job, and she knows this.) We both are professional in the work place. The thing is that we can continue not to talk to each other, or begin to talk to each other. she is a receptionist and at times she calls me to let her go on her break. During this time, this is when we politely talk? I feel we need to talk. I want to call her at her home. I want to be able to express myself to her. I don't want her back. I just want to be able to talk with her about our friendship or lack of friendship. it was an ugly break up. (We broke up because she lied to me and was caught in it. It was about her age and other things.) I am fine either way. But, why would this not be a good idea for me. I believe she is giving me signals to clearly talk more with her. She is a very traditional women.
Zona76
Asking to get together to discuss a renewed friendship may be misunderstood as getting back together. You need to talk that's true, But you need to talk about how you're sorry you hurt her and admit to your mistakes. Let her know you'd like to be friends but if she'd rather maintain a professional relationship only that's fine too. I think the point is, you are willing to admit to being part of the pain. CaliGuy
If you don't want her back and you are looking for another job, what is the reason for talking to her at all? It seems to me that if you are intent on moving on with your life a talk with her isn't necessary. Write down all your feelings on paper and NEVER send it. Maybe you need to get some things out of your system but telling her, especially when you have accepted it's over and want to move on, isn't the best of ideas.
