And I love Desiderata... it's a poem, not just a quote, but there has been a copy of this poem hanging on my wall for most of my life. When we first had children, we had sleepless nights and crying babies. Sometimes those nights and days seemed to be forever, but they passed. As they grew older, they crawled then walked. As each stage arrives and passes, we have new worries and joys. As I come upon difficulties in life, then I try to remember that "this too shall pass." So, did you post on that thread why you chose your name? Well, I'd already discussed my choice of user name a bit, when I first joined the forums. My reasons for choosing the name were definitely related to the hope that this phrase gave, and the reminder that life is a series of highs and lows - one will follow the other. The "in-between lull", too, is a preparation for the next phase. Nothing is permanent. If it doesn't perish, it will change into something else. But it won't last forever in the same form.
