I don't know what the average age is. Maybe do a search. I think the average age people get married in the US is around 26 though.

I never thought about marriage seriously though until I was in my late 20's. Before that, I didn't feel ready or willing to get married.

But it certainly is an individual thing. So do you want to tell us why you ask?

I think that all depends. I am 24 and am looking for marriage in the near future..I think women realize they are ready at all different ages. Some when they are 18, some when they are 40. If I had to give an approximation though, I'd say mid-twenties are when women start thinking about seriously considering getting married. It's around the time where you've gone through college, dated around, and now want the house in the suburbs with a husband and 2.5 kids.

I think every women is different with this. Some are ready when they are 18 and some don't feel the need to get married ever. I'm 26 and although I love my bf and know he is the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with I have no desire to get married.

It does vary for every woman. I'm 25 and just now am considering looking for someone for a potential lifelong commitment. I think thats why I have been single for awhile. I was a lot less picky in the past and dated guys who I didn't really see a future with. Now, I really don't jump into anything unless I can see it possibly going somewhere.

Ditto. I'm 28 now, have a wonderful fiance, and will be married in 4 months and 30 days (not that I am counting!!). They guys I were with in the past, even though they were long relationships ranging from 18 months to 4 years, they just weren't the ones. I stayed way longer than I should have, I know, but at least I finally found "the one!"

Interesting, thats earlier than I what I was thinking. I thought most women either start seriously thinking or get involved in the relationship which leads to marriage at around the age of 30. After being engaged twice, having several long term relationships, I now know who I should be with. The reason I posted this question is she's 23 now, I"m supposed to move with my job for at least four years. I was thinking by the time I come back she would probably be married away.

Have you talked about marriage with her at all? Not necessarily about the two of you getting married, just the idea of marriage? That should be a hint as to where she's at. Me, I'm 20 and am pretty sure I'm not ready to get married yet, but my friend is 20 and about to get married and can't wait to have kids. So it really just depends on the person.

We never discussed marriage, kids yes. I might be wrong about all of this but I always thoughts that if I just would've had a normal relationship with her then we probably would be on the married path by now. Instead I blew it, she went through some wasted relationships as did I. I was engagd and she moved away with a guy for a year.

It didn't work out for me, I'm thinking that she's the lady for me, what she thinks about me I'm not sure. I haven't really talked to her in about two years. I just talked to her recently and I was all ready to congratulate her on getting married but she had about the same luck I did. I was looking to talk with her more but she's having some kind of financial troubles and her phone has been turned off, so thats that.
