Author sb129
Scientology is very dangerous. If you really dig into it, you can find their documents on how to deal with people who discredit them, etc. Lying, frivolous lawsuits, blackmail, threats of violence, all are deemed ok as tactics to use against unbelievers.. Yes i have seen them. YAy moai! I was hoping this would entice you to come on board! Yes, I agree with you, and I have seen the xenu and op clambake websites. i didn't know that scientology is banned in germany- that IS awesome. Sounds like we are all agreed then. Damn. Wanted some banter.
Moai
It wouldn't surprise me if your username is being recorded and the Co$ is trying to find out who you are, and then will start attacking you. Or me, for that matter. They did that to a little old lady in Britain. After years and thousands of dollars, she finally won.
Author sb129
Really? I did think about that before starting the thread, then thought surely not. Whats the story with the little old lady?

How long do you think a Scientardolgist would last if they got within 20 feet of me? :lmao: I have a backhoe and I know how to use it. Actually you just need to OUTNUT them............If someone acts crazy you just out crazy them.

Citizen Erased
This is not a religion, it is a cult. These freaks believe in an alien forthcoming. Xenu my a@#. It was made up by a disgusting child molester who knew how to exploit stupid people out of their money. Celebs are easy to get because they have no souls left after all the ass kissing and blow jobs they have to get to make it to the top, they will throw their money away just so they can pretend to themselves they believe in something, anything then the reality of the shallow vain existence they now lead. The crazier the "religion" the better.

I absolutely agree with you 100%, was wondering whether other people did too. Seems we are all in agreement......

But seriously, how many "religions" believing in aliens have ended up with a mass suicide by the followers, except for the leaders who laugh all the way to the bank. They aren't quite up to the suicide part, but they do have the brainwashed look in their eyes
Author sb129
You are so right! As Topper says, most religions are based on some crazy made up story or two. Scientology and Mormonism are two more recent examples.
Teacher's Pet
I am not afraid of Xenu. As long as I keep my shields up and my phasers on stun, I'll be fine. -tp beam THIS up, douche!

Island Girl
I love calling them a cult for that exact reason. I wish they had neon necklaces they wore or something so I could meet one in the real world walking around and know they were a Scientologist. I could get into a conversation with them and get them worked up by calling it a cult over and over to their face. The entertainment value and the years of comedy I could get from that would be priceless. There are a lot of other questions I'd love to ask. Like how they got sucked in? Do they know what they really believe in? Why do they put so much credence in the word of some sick pervert? And the million dollar questions: Did you really LIKE Battlefield Earth? And...WHY? *** John Travolta actually thought it was a great movie with a fantastic script and it is TERRIBLE. I had to watch it in three different sitting because it is so unwatchable. Author sb129
i don't think I could even do that re: Battlefield Earth. It looks awful. How are things with you IG?
Island Girl
How are things with you IG? Fantastic! Papers are filed -- it should only take the US 6 months to confirm we have a valid marriage -- yep, really, 6 months for that first step. Even with a letter from our landlord from 2001 that we moved in here together and resided here together - plane tickets from 2003 when I visited him in Tonga - tickets and pictures of our marriage in Tonga in 2006 and over $8,000 in phone card receipts from talking for the last more than 4 years, - it is still going to take 6 months to verify we got married because we really have a relationship. As you can tell I am frustrated with the time line. But he is way worse. He keeps focusing on not knowing when he'll see me again. He says he keeps having dreams that it is going to be 2 years or more. And no, it shouldn't be THAT long. But probably a year... I think I'm sending him to Auckland so he can spend some time there and get off the island for a few months. I think he is just island crazy right now. How about you? You are getting ready to move right?
Island Girl
i don't think I could even do that re: Battlefield Earth. It looks awful. Oh it is SO bad. Really really bad. The acting is terrible, the script is ridiculous. The inconsistencies are glaring. It is a source of humor for my brother so I had to watch it to stay in the loop. Sometimes it is difficult to keep up with him. He's a super brain with a quick wit.

How much JUNK can one person accumulate in three years? The answer is LOTS. Just been to the recycling depot to offload stacks of papers and mags etc. Boring, but necessary. Island Girl
Woohoo! Thats great news!! Six months isn't that long at all! Six months to get our marriage approved. Then it goes to Visa approval for 2-4 months Then it goes to Fiji for his interview which can take 2-3 months And it could be approved within 4 months of that... YUCK. Yes I am getting ready to move at the end of June. How much JUNK can one person accumulate in three years? The answer is LOTS. a4a
Oh boy I so wanted to take the OCA test on the scientargologist web site..... but they send the test results to the nearest "church" where you have to go to get your results...... Very tempting to do this...... must use restraint...... must use restraint. Their web site is quite pleasant. I could see where people would view this as a form of Utopia builders... Pass the kool aid.
Author sb129
Oh, ok. Thats not so OK. But at least things are happening though huh. I am going to ship some stuff back to NZ, looking at that at the moment, its not as expensive as I thought. I can PM you the freight companies if you want.

Moai
I am not sure of the specifics re: the little old lady, but she challenged the Co$ in her town and put out flyers or something, so they threatened her, blackmailed her, and harassed her, and finally it made the courts and she won. All religions are cults, or at least started out that way. It would seem that a cult just has fewer members. Is what Scientologists do really that different from what Peter Popoff and Benny Hinn do? And as far as the Co$ being made up by a child molester, it wouldn't surprise me, but I hadn't heard that about L. Ron. I know Muhammad was a child molester, so Islam is a church founded on the ravings of a perv, too. As far as Xenu goes, I don't think that story is any weirder than a god-man rising from the dead and being taken up physically into Heaven. But that's just me. Read the posts from some of the believers on these threads, and they all say it takes "faith" and that I just won't get it because I don't have any (not in superbeings, anyway.) Read some of their posts and substitute the word "Xenu" for "Christ" "God" or "Jesus" and thetans for "Holy Spirit". Their statements have the same meaning, and don't get any weirder. I find the SeaOrg program in Scientology to be hilarious. It bums me out that the US has given them "religion" status. Yet another reason that churches should be taxed. Moai
There is no reasoning with the damned. Remember Heaven's Gate? They were the nutjobs that thought there was a spaceship in the tail of Hale-Bopp and they had to die to meet it. That is a claim that is pretty easy to check, and I always wondered why nobody in their cult did... Turns out, they did check. They bought a $4000 telescope to look at the tail of the comet, and when they saw no ship there they returned the telescope as defective. It would be funny if it weren't so tragic.
