Allergy shots....immunotherapy...does it work?

I recently started allergy shots and I was just wondering if anyone on here could attest to their working for them. How long did it take to see results? I have been told it's about 6 months until it starts to help, and that it takes a long time to get to the point where you only go monthly. I'm currently going weekly, and getting 3 shots a week.

 

So, has it worked for you? If so, how long have you been on them, or how long have you been off them after going through the whole thing?

i haven't taken them personally but I know people who have had much success with them. its all scientfic and everything.

Within six months you should start feeling better but it takes a couple of years to get the full results. Both my kids do the shot thing and we have a couple of dogs, a cat and horses. Shots do work. It just takes time.

i just read that if you eat a teaspoon of LOCALLY harvested honey it may help with allergies.

it is important that you use honey made near where you live, since the bees use the area plants.

LRB - Actually, I've heard that too. Supposedly the honey would contain the local pollens and help with allergies. I suppose that could work in the same way that shots do, but in different doses.

 

It's definitely something to think about.
