pelagicsands Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I have the Jewish version, but I don't think it is quite up to par with J-Lo's. I have to try that, sometime.
amaysngrace Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I think what he meant to say was that he wishes he could have been there for you, to help you through it. b4r hates me like he hates himself. Didn't you know?
pelagicsands Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 b4r hates me like he hates himself. Didn't you know? He's passionate about lots of stuff. If you hate something, then - deep down - you care. If you didn't care, then you would be indifferent.

Yeah okay that's true for most I guess but I think b4r is a rare breed. The rules may not apply. I just wish he could be okay with himself rather than be down all the time. I think he deserves happiness.
pelagicsands Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I think he deserves happiness. Keep working on him.
amaysngrace Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Keep working on him. It's not my job. It's his job. To provide himself with love so that he doesn't need anyone to make him feel loved. To love yourself is to always have love with you. It is liking yourself enough to be okay being by yourself. To know you're in good company even if you are alone. But you need to see yourself and accept yourself before you can ever really love yourself.
pelagicsands Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 But you need to see yourself and accept yourself before you can ever really love yourself. I know what you mean. I spend a lot of time in front of the mirror. Growl.
amaysngrace Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 I spend a lot of time in front of the mirror. Growl. That's not what I meant Tiger.
pelagicsands Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 It's not my job. Sometimes we all have to go the extra mile. Thank you for trying, and for knowing when to give up.
CaliGuy Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 There are some very insightful people here who might be able to help me figure this out. Why is it that you have to love yourself in order to find love from others? Can you teach someone to ride a bicycle if you don't know how to ride one? Can you relate to the death of a loved one if you have never experienced it yourself? In the same context, how can you possibly understand how to love someone ELSE if you first do not understand how to love yourself? It also applies to respect. If you don't respect yourself, you will not understand how to respect others. It's simply a matter of experiencing and understand these things yourself before they can be applied to others.
Ashbash11 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I think this phrase is a load of B.S. All of my friends who are in serious relationships tell me this, and I don't buy it. I love and respect myself and I am happy with who I am, yet I have yet to find a loving relationship. I've been in many dysfunctional relationships with both friends/lovers, but I have yet to find "true love."
