Damo Posted May 26, 2007 Share Posted May 26, 2007 Hi, It's so pathetic. I get jealous so easy and the fact that I realise this and still can’t overcome it is scary. I get too heavy into relationships way too early. If I meet a girl I like and we've been seeing each other 5-6 weeks I suddenly need all her attention and feel very jealous when someone else diverts her attention from me. Generally I break up with her because it’s not fair on her and its extremely stressful for me. I'd like to be in a relationship but it doesn't seem possible with this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Damo Jealousy is a form of control... you'd want to control her thoughts, her attention... etc but you just can't. Tell yourself that no matter what you do, you can't control another person EVER. So if she wants to 'fool around', she will and there is absolutely nothing you can do. Being jealous will only make it impossible for you to be happy and to trust anyone.... plus it is probably one of the biggest turn-off. Just relax, read some books on that subject, it might give you some 'homeworks' to do on a daily basis... you NEED to overcome this problem if you want to be happy. Why are you sooo insecure? I bet it has something to do with your childhood... try to look into what makes you jealous.... the reason of your insecurities. Jealousy will poison all your relationships... get to work buddy... It's much harder when we're younger or new to dating. I'm 24 going on 35. I've always been very mature for my age. I've been successful in business etc. but relationships have been a disaster.
