kill false hope

my ex and i broke up almost 5 months ago. i did all the tricks in the book - NC, improving myself, not begging him back. i visited this forum and read everything on the net on winning your ex back. i did all of it.

i went to the gym. i fixed my insecurities. i read books. i engaged in sports. i did everything, but at the back of my head, i was hoping and expecting he'd get back with me after seeing an very improved version of me.

but no, it's been 5 months and there's no reconciliation happening. and all my efforts backfired when i realized it was really over. i had a breakdown last week.

in short, nothing you say or do will ever make an ex go back to you if he doesn't want to. so just move on for YOUR sake, not to win someone back coz it will backfire =(

i'm sorry to hear about your hardships.

But you are right, when you embark on the self improvement journey it must be for you and you only. Don't do it because you think it might win your ex back.

I think when all this is over you will thank yourself for embarking on your self improvement journey.

You can't believe everything you read.

Make sure you hope -and *do* what you do for *you* and not someone else.

The "if he (or she) doesn't want to" part is key in the whole scenario.

You've learned a very important, valuable lesson for life.
