she likes me but hates LDR's...

ok so this is a really complicated mess. me and my best friend both really like each other but she is going to college about 400 miles away in about 3 months. its a year round college but it is only for 2 years...but that also means no summer break. she says if it wasnt for the distance she would date me but she says she doesnt like long distance relationships. (she was in one for 9 months before). she is torn between saying yes and no because of the distance that will be involved. she is afraid that it will tear us apart. how can i show her that nothing will happen and that we should try it? i really like her and i dont think i could take it if she came back 2 years later with a serious boyfriend. i need help! she wont say yes but she told me specifically that she isnt saying no. i just dont know what she wants to hear.

Well, first I would want to know what it was that caused the end to the 9 month LDR? Assure her that you would do what it took. Being in one myself I know that it's hard, but I would reassure her that we could still see each other sometimes, and phone calls can keep you connected no matter how far apart you are. I love to get a call just to say goodnight. Near or far, little things like that seem to mean a world of difference to me. Best of luck to you!

well her previous LDR actually ended not because of the distance but because she is religious and he was an atheist. but she still said she hated not being able to see him much, which is apparently whats keeping her from trying this one. i understand where she is comming from though. i mean i know it will be hard if we try it but im sure we could make it work because we care so much about each other its crazy. she once stated not to long ago that "if i had a boyfriend i would want to see him at least once a week" so that worries me. o and thanks for the luck...i feel i may need it.
