English is not my native tongue, but I recall reading famous English poets using this word in their poems, the poems being Christian (body vs. soal conflict). In my native language the translation of lust = passion. I think I bring this up because I seem to get the impression that lust has a negative connotation in this forum, or is it because this is a cheating forum ? I'm not sure I was able to convey what I mean exactly; Any thoughts ? anyone ?... Link to post Share on other sites
Storyrider Posted June 10, 2007 Share Posted June 10, 2007 The word lust has negative, sinful connotations, I would say. It is one of the seven deadly sins in Catholicism. And it definitely implies more of a low, animal, bodily kind of desire. Passion has more spiritual, high-brow connotations. Desire is probably somewhere in the middle.
