BlueSoul
I discovered this article from wikipedia: After the US release of Pokémon Yellow, a sudden widespread criticism of it passed through Christian congregations primarily by word-of-mouth. Some Christian groups in the United Statesbelieve Pokémon to be Satanic in origin, although the topic of religion was never mentioned or referenced in any episode of the anime. Claimed parallels between Pokémon and Satanism include the capturing and invoking of Pokémon to perform tasks, similar to demons; the concept of Pokémon "evolution," which denies some forms of biblical interpretation; and certain abilities of Pokémon, such as psychic or elemental powers, not stated to derive from God. There are also allegations against Pokémon citing liberal views on morality. For example, James, a character on the anime show, frequently dresses as a woman to disguise himself, giving some the impression that he is a transvestite (even though that essentially has little to do with morals at all). What do you think?
laRubiaBonita
then all super heros would be deemed evil... except He-Man of course, his powers were derived from GreySkull
Enema
I think if you look hard enough you can draw parallels between anything. "Claimed parallels between Pokémon and Satanism include the capturing and invoking of Pokémon to perform tasks, similar to demons" "Claimed parallels between Pokémon and Christianity include the capturing and invoking of God to perform tasks, similar to prayer. Sal Paradise
I think it's just more extremist Christian nonsense along the same line as Falwell's ignorant accusation that the Purple Teletubby was gay propaganda or the even more recent moronic attacks on Harry Potter by some church groups. Ya know the kind of wacko's you see in the documentary "Jesus Camp". Thankfully they don't represent all Christians.

Citizen Erased
Christianity is struggling and they need the media to pay attention to them so they make up this crap. First Anne Rice turns to the dark side (aka Catholicism) and no more good Anne Rice Novels, Teletubbies and now Pokemon? C'mon!
