But if we look at that quote, maybe we're meant to make the mistakes anyway and learn from them that way? What do you think? So how do you interpret that, lonelybird? Author lonelybird
Thanks for the nice quotes, Lonelybird. Is the first one reminding us that Sunday is to be a day of rest and reflection? And is the second one reminding us that it's not wise to think we can live by rules we make for ourselves instead of those that came from God? You welcome :). Yes, you are right. The first one means if people return to God from sins, rest in HIM (can be anytime), they shall be saved. Rest in Lord also means "give your burdens to Lord, cast out worries to Lord, and Lord is able to carry you". care free in a word When people are having difficult time, they shall not fuss or panic, but be quiet in spirit, calm in spirit, trust in Lord totally, because Lord works all things (good and bad) for people who put trust in HIM and love HIM. Lord is our strength. The second one, yes, many people tend to rely on their own intelligence, and wisdom from this world, many of which are contrary to God's wisdom. When people is busy to make their wicked plans, and think nobody knows, God laughs at them. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. Today the person make a perfect plan, tomorrow the person can be gone, or God conflict the person's plan. MAN isn't in control. but God is. Also the world's wisdom is foolish in God's eyes. the world's wisdom really mess people up. For example, EGO. People usually define themselves by ego which defined by outside elements: money, looking, power, popularity, many people even let others to define their value (gf or bf). People try hard to gain these things, in the end these things are vanity. and Big ego big trouble. The world wisdom "self-centred"; but God's wisdom "other oriented". The world judge people according to their appearance, but God looks at the heart. Some people who get high level education, or has higher intelligence level, they puff themselves up, think they are in control, humble isn't in their dictionary. They try to be independent from God, and do whatever they want to do, but in the end they are the ones who got hurt. There are many other wisdoms in the Bible that from God. when you read it, you will know how different between God's wisdom and the world's wisdom

The quote part is different from what you thought. It means a person is more mature in spirit, he/she is more childish in this world, childish in evil deeds. And a person is more mature in this world (evil deeds), he/she is foolish in God's eyes.

Author lonelybird
This thread desperately needs a turn around. New Qutoe of the Day! "When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself." Peter O'Toole. Can you control when you die, when you born? I don't think so:D. But God can. Can you make a human being out of dust? Can you perform miracles? heal blind, cripple, and drive out devils instantly? Change a person dramatically? I don't think so, but God can:love:
Author lonelybird
Sure I can. Why don't you call god down here and we'll have a "miracle-off". Whoever performs the most miracles wins! You get 1 point for showing up, then 1 point for every miracle after that. Current Score Enema: 1 God: 0 Showing up? too easy.......... God is invisible. You can feel God presents in your spirit, you can feel how good and loving and bright he is, no darkness in HIm, then you can feel how sinful we are, how sorry we feel for our sinful deeds (this cannot be seen by our human being's standards, only when God presents, we can feel this deep repentance). When people think they are good people, they are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from the good God thinks When people think they are doing ok, they are terribly sinful in God's eyes, without Jesus sacrificed his life for us, none of us can live. Jesus said "I love you so much that I am willing to die for you, so you can live". Who can love you so much that willingly die for you, and you can live? Praise God, kingdom of heaven is wonderful:love:
Author lonelybird
Yes, praise god... only he can tell us truly how sinful and wicked we are. He is so wonderful! Even when we think we're doing ok, nope! God can tell you that you're wrong and you need to ask for forgiveness. Even if you think you're a good person, nope! God will help you see how terribly sinful you really are. Praise god, what a wonderful loving, caring invisible man he is... constantly belittling every effort and reminding you that you will never be good! Where do I sign up!? Ok, for example, a person who always cheat on his wife didn't think that what he did was terribly wrong. He just went his own way. But one day he met God! Instantly he can picture inside of him how wrongly he cheated his wife, how painful his wife was, how damaged his family became, and he knows now that he was just too selfish! yet God is all giving. He sent his beloved son to save us--bunch of sinners. and Jesus never seeked his own benefit, never think of himself, and was willingly to die for us, if you saw the movie the passion of Christ you know how he loves us. In the movie you can see most of people just belittled and tortured a loving man who did nothing wrong, loves them, and speak of truth. Guilty of sense is a good thing, it tell us the truth, it can bring us to change our sinful behaviours. But if you intentionally remove the guilty without repent to God, you are doing damage to yourself and others. You just numb your conscience, which will bring more damage to yourself. Repentance bring true change. The above man knows that the cheating is hurtful to others, and he knows how good God is, and even his sinful behaviours, God loves him, hope that this man turn away his sinful behaviours and turn to God. Realize how sinful we are, and repentance is a sign that God is giving us chance to turn to Him. If you heartly repent your sins to God, you just know in your heart God forgive you. The rejoice and peace will come into your heart.

Does he ever tell you something original? Sounds like he is only of benefit to those that can't tell the difference between right and wrong. Useless to me. btw, what did jesus dying accomplish? Author lonelybird
I don't believe in god and I know that cheating is wrong. So, thanks for nothing god... Sounds like he is only of benefit to those that can't tell the difference between right and wrong. Useless to me. btw, what did jesus dying accomplish? How exactly was it "for" me? Okay, let me ask you several questions. Do you think porn is wrong? But in God's eyes it is terribly wrong, it is called "exploit others and impurity". Did you have sex out of marriage? if you do, it is sinful Do you forgive those who offend you? God forgives us many many times, and he teach us to forgive those who offend you. If you don't forgive them, then you are sinful. Are you ever malice to other people? Did you do something to hurt others? Did you take avengence? all these things are sinful Can you love your enemies? Are you good to others ALL THE TIME? If you cannot love your enemies, you are sinful in God's eyes Do you cheat on your wife/husband? sinful Did you ever lie to others? sinful You think you know what is right and wrong, it is called self-righteousness. If you can be good to others ALL the time and love the one who offended you, didn't have sexual impurity in the past and will not do in the future, didn't lie one single lie in your whole life, did not look at a woman/man with lust in your heart, didn't have one single impurity thought in your mind, then probably you can be called a righteousness one. but I doubt it That's why Jesus died for us. HE is the only one who isn't sinful on earth. But He conquered death, obey his heavenly father to die on a cross. We are so sinful that we cannot enter kingdom of heaven. but whoever believe in Jesus and obey him will enter kingdom of heaven, that means we don't have to die. He conquered darkness, bring light to the world. He delivered captives, set them free (he tell us the truth). whoever sinned is a captive of sin. It is easy to understand about this point. people who are addictive to drugs and porn, who love money, who keep to do adultery. they are all captives. they have too much flesh desires, and Satan exploit them through their earthly desires. but they'd rather be exploited by Satan than love good. But some people really didn't know about truth. By God's standards, none of us can live. But Jesus paid the price for us. so we can live by having faith in Him and obey him. If you have a close relationship with Jesus, he will guide in all things and lead you to a eternal life. You will not be captive of devil, you will have freedom, love and peace in your heart.
