PWSX3
Went hiking yesterday & got a pretty good size blister on my foot so today we went & bought some of that moleskin. What is the best thing to help a blister heal? I read that you shouldn't pop them unless you have to. Mine is on my left foot on the ball of the foot by the big toe. Once it heels I'm headed out for a new pair of hiking shoes that's for sure. I was wearing the boots that I use snowshoeing & I think my feet just got to hot.
Art_Critic
I always use big bandaids and Neosporin.. a big smear of it.. keep it on the open blister for at least 12 hrs a day.. They always go away in about 2 days on me...
Phoebe
Take a needle, pass it through a flame and then pierce but do not pop the blister. Play with the blister until all the liquid is out then carry on as normal.
Tony T
If it really becomes a problem, call a toe truck. I wouldn't do too much to it. Just let it heal on its own, the neosporin should be a big help. Yes, you absolutely need some better shoes before going on a long hike again.
Author PWSX3
So the blister is looking a lot better on its own & now I want to get some new hiking shoes. Anyone have suggestions on a good pair of hiking shoes? I don't want the big boots, more the light weight, day hiking type shoes. I looked at Merrell because they were highly recommended but they seem a little narrow. I was also told to check out Lowe but they are really expensive.
