What do you men think about women who earn 6 figures a year?

RP, how did you manage to stay so sane and down-to-earth being a record producer?
Oh, thanks for calling me sane. :D (I've never been called that way before!) I did very little of production for a living, but I did sing professionally and hated the job (gigs). I see myself as a composer and sold some songs back in my country, but it's merely a hobby (that I barely engage in) since I got married. I want to keep it either as a hobby or as a second occupation. I intend to go to law school. I hate the studio work so I have no desire to pursue that as a career; it's too exhausting, too competitive, and for my taste too boring. But most of all, I can't stand the rough-edged, pump-egoed, primitive people that dominate the show biz; so I understand your reference to insanity. ;) By the way, are you in the entertainment industry? :)

Personally, I don't feel that selling porn for a living, whether you're making six figures or not, constitutes a successful career. I couldn't live with myself if this is how I earned a living.

I am a teacher of eight years, and I do quite well for myself, earning $53,000 a year, and I am actually doing something that I enjoy that is positively contributing to society.

I disagree. IMO many teachers, and many aspects of the school system, have a negative impact on society. Bullying is rife, by both teachers and pupils, most teachers are there because they aren't good enough to succeed otherwise in their professions, many teachers abuse their authority. In my experience, which was generally pretty good performing schools, only a small minority of teachers were actually decent, sincere, hard-working people. Far more were bullies on a power trip, or just lazy backsliders taking advantage of a profession with good job security and little competition.

Someone going into porn in an entrepreneurial way is risking social opprobrium and financial ruin to bring pleasure to hundreds of millions of people. Although I rarely watch porn nowadays, I am grateful that people like cutegirl, Larry Flynt, Hugh Hefner etc ignored puritans like yourself, stuck two fingers up at society, and go on making more and more hot videos of people having sex. No matter what you say, the fact is that at least 50% of society likes and uses porn, if it's a sick industry then society itself is sick. I just wish more people would ignore the morality police and stick to giving mature adults the entertainment that they want.

Wow, that's just such a blatant attempt at trolling that it's not even interesting.

For people telling me it's my attitude that causes men to cheat, let me say : I HAVE NEVER BEEN CHEATED ON! (at least not YET, so far.)

I am merely taking the precautions in order to insure that it doesn't happen in the future. It hasn't happened yet!

When I say that "most men cheat", it's merely from what I have observed from my acquaintances and from I see happening to other people. Just about EVERY girl I know has been cheated on at some point, and most have gotten played A LOT.

Man, I really do get sick of people on here saying "most men cheat", or in Woggles case "most women cheat".

Doesn't say much about these peoples faith in the opposite sex, which I think is sad and obtuse.

. I am very conservative and uptight in my personal life.

. You think?

This thread was not intended to be about porn and I am absolutely not going to post in here again in order to argue with a bunch of judgmental bible-thumpers. I am out of this thread. I am done with you people.

CG, every time you start one of these threads you do this. I f you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen girlfriend.

YOU started the thread. What did you expect? Us all to go, oh wow CG, I didn't know you were so successful, well done, good for you, you are amazing.... life isn't like that sorry sweetie, ESPECIALLY if you do something like sell porn, which alot of people have strong opinions about.

I am one of the most hated professions in the world. It doesn't diminuish my enjoyment of it, because I am good at it, and someone has to do it, and I grew a thick skin a long time ago.

Overall, these appear to be the issues:

1. Craves respect from others by flaunting a "reasonable" salary.

2. Deliberately targets low income men so there's "perceived" full control and delight from ensuring domination over the individual.

3. Reveres money and prestige as the most important drivers in life.

4. Sees it as a positive to manipulate and use people. Openly admires it.

5. Peddles porn for a living but wants admiration and respect from everyone.

6. Believes that all men cheat and has no respect for the entire gender.

7. Has difficulty making friends.

8. Blames her mother for everything.

9. Is highly competitive and supposedly wants opinions but argues if she disagrees, which is through 98% of this thread.

10. Doesn't want business advice. ;)

Hope I caught all the pertinent points.

You did.

These threads are actually immensely entertaining, sorry CG, but they are. :D

Your blatant bullishness and insistence that we be reminded of your income every couple of weeks are hilarious.

However, your obvious unhappiness is sad.

You really need to lighten up- there is a whole world of fun, love and laughter to be had out there, someone as lucky as you to have so much cash should be out there enjoying life, and maybe giving a little of it to those who are less fortunate than you...

I know two teachers, one of them is my roommate, and they are both good, decent people who got into teaching to do some good.

And yes, society itself is definitely sick.

What country are you from? What kind of music did you perform? No, not in the entertainment industry. Used to work in porn publishing, now in nutrition writing, may be getting into education writing! Pretty all over the place, eh?
