Lady Aurora
OK, I confess... I have a project that I have been working on, and others are depending on my piece to get done. But, I have gotten really burnt out working on it, and have procrastinated allowing myself and the project to get behind. It is not difficult work, I just need to sit down and get'r done, but I find myself wanting to avoid it. So, what are some things that you do when you are faced with a lack of motivation? What do you find helps give you that kick in the posterior you need to get yourself on track again?
underpants
Take a walk. I find that a good long walk, clears the mind and re -energizes the body. Gives you time to think about your task and how to approach it when you get back home. Good luck
Storyrider
Set a very brief time that you will work no matter what, and then promise yourself that after that time you are free to stop. It could be for as little as 30 seconds, as silly as that sounds. Really stop after 30 seconds if you want to. Then do it again. If not, keep going. Starting is the hardest part. Trialbyfire
When I get like that to the point where I'm willing to let the project get behind a deadline or milestone, it's a signal for a day off or some form of downtime like a vacation. I use the time off as an incentive for me to finish off the project.
JulieJ
Break the task down into little phases and tell yourself that you only have to sit down and make it to a certain point for one day, then you can put it down for the rest of the day. And reward yourself at the end of every phase

beautifulearth83
I was going to offer some advice but the same thing happens to me. And I've done it with things that I realized were not as hard or big a task as I thought. I'm interested to know more about what it is that causes it though. Where the source of the spark to do something is and how to ignite it more often. Maybe it's different in all of us? Maybe it's similiar.
