Girls & Being Checked Out

Recommended Posts

What do women think about men who look at them and smile or "check them out"? If the guy seems nice do you smile back or ignore him? If he doesn't seem very attractive do you just stick up your nose at him?

The reason I ask is I hardly ever make eye-contact with a girl I don't know for more than a few seconds. I guess I've been a little afraid that some girl I look at would get offended or act disgusted or something, but I don't think I look bad or anything.

So how do women really feel about this?

First of all, it depends on the place. But, checking out is always OK! You just gotta know the limits.

If you're in a lecture, the checking out has to be a lot more discreet than, say, at a bar. Whatever you do, don't stare like the gal's a giraffe or something, just make brief eye contact, several times over a short period of time.

If the girl's curious about you, she'll look back & maybe smile, depending on how shy she is. If it looks like she's welcoming, go ahead and talk to her - it gets annoying if a guy keeps looking at you but doesn't approach you.

If she doesn't look or smile back, or make a yucky face - don't get discouraged because first of all, perhaps she didn't notice you were looking; second of all, she may be shy; third of all, she may have a stomach ache.

So, if a gal doesn't respond to your attempts to make eye contact, you can go ahead and walk by her, and make eye contact. Then you'll be able to tell by her reaction if it's OK to stop and talk or you better keep walking.

that's my take,

-yes (yes, I am a girl =) )
