To look naturally beautiful, why is it important to sleep well? What is the significants to this?

I'm afraid I don't know the science behind it but last year when I was having sleep problems I noticed how much older it made me look - just the lack of sleep 'bags under the eyes' thing. I KNOW we're always told to sleep at least 8 hours (I think), drink lots of water, eat healthy, don't drink and smoke, keep out of the sun, etc, but personally I reckon a lot of it is down to genetics. Also, with the sleep thing, some just need sleep more than others. I need at least 8 hours a night and if I am still awake at, say, 11.30pm and know I have to be up at 7am, I start stressing. Ideally I would like 10 hours a night but there's no way I would get that during the working week unfortunately! I think they also say that as you get older you need less sleep. Kids sleep for ages, don't they? My son can sleep for 12 hours but I know from the older generation that they can get by on 5 or 6 hours a night! If only.
