Why do men look at women?

This is a very gender oriented question as I’ve never seen nearly as many women staring at (semi) attractive men.

I love women. They are great to look at and they're just so...hmmm... just so nice to look at. There are some exceptions but I appreciate women of all shapes and sizes. I think it's ingrained in my genes to find women sexually arousing. Sometimes looking at them can make you feel very... content.

 

Looking at women, to me, has nothing to do with self-esteem, masturbation, or any of that crap. You're taking it too far. To men women are sexual animals and as such, men enjoy looking at them. If I'm single, looking is a precursor to interest, obviously.

I don’t know how typical I am but I look at people, especially women, all the time. It is not just their form that I look at but also their mannerisms and whatnot. It is almost never sexual, even with women who I am sexually attracted to. Some people I find have an interesting look. I start to wonder about what they might be like, how they might live their life, what they think about… Even with my girlfriend, when I’m looking at her, admiring her beauty, I’m often just wondering what she is thinking.

 

But then, I am an artist and often I will be looking at someone thinking about the way that I would draw or paint that person, how their form is put together, the interrelation of their parts, their flow, their lines…

 

Other times I am just staring out into space and someone will think that I am looking at someone.

For the same reason I look closely at certain cars, I find that looking at women (specifically, women whom I find attractive) is inexplicably satisfying and it is NOT out of jealously (me wanting/lusting after her) but admiration. Maybe my brain is just wired to find a particular female shape irresistable, kindof like the way gravity always pulls in a particular direction. A lady who is looking sexy and confident simply draws my attention, in the same way that a 65 Thunderbird convertible never escapes me.

4. You are confused. You obviously think that if we look we are wanting to go farther but that is not usually the case. Women look as well but they are usually less blatent about it. We all (male/female) enjoy looking at an attractive member of the opposite sex.

Again, I am speaking for me.... I am aware that when a man is looking at me/my body, that it is, for the most part, brought on by some form of attraction to me....okay, sexual attraction.... However, in most cases, where I am concerned, the guy does try to get with me, and would love to go farther...:love:

 

And let me just say, that because I am somewhat tall, I have a tendency to turn heads when I walk by. both male and female. Now when a woman turns to look at me, I feel the admiration thing....but when the MEN look, I feel the sex, lust, I wonder what it's like thing....

 

But again I must say: I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm perfectly cool with it.
