Now I've heard of people getting payed for taking surveys, yet most of all the sites I have encountered are scams.

Do any of you take surveys- and get payed? If so...what site

If you're looking for something that would serve as a part time job, I can't help you. However, there are 2 web sites I have been a member to for a long time (5+ years for both of them) and over time have received probably $500 total from them. One of them is MySurvey.com, and the other is MyPoints.com Both of them work on a point system, after you accumulate X amount of points you can earn actual cash. I take that back, MyPoints doesn't do cash, but you can get gift cards for Walmart which is the same thing as cash, right?

Anyway, both are 100% legit, even if the point earning process is a bit slow.

Back when I was in college I worked at a place in the mall called QuickTest. We would actually walk the mall and ask people if they would participate in a survey then screen them to see what survey's they qualified for. Most did not pay, but some did. Actually, that's how I met my husband. I interviewed him for a survey about answering machines (this is back when they were first on the market) and after the survey we flirted a bit and he asked me out.

Since that time we are on a survey list here and we have been called to do surveys sometimes. Some pay $5 or $25, but a couple of them have been 6-hour surveys and have paid $100 - $500 each. It entails going to their office to participate, but it's fun. One was a wine-tasting survey where a group of people were given different wine's and asked about them. We had cheese and crackers in between to clear the palate and then coffee and time afterward to make sure we could drive home. That paid $200 and was like a party. It was Arbor Mist.

Another was a mock trial. They attorneys in a major drug-manufacturing trial paid for that (I think it was Pfizer) and we were the jury. they ran the trial just as they would for read - except they did not have witnesses in and they shortened it a bit, but we saw the charts and photos and information that they presented at the real trial. They did that to get an idea of how to proceed - what they needed to change, remove, or add. They presented the basis for the prosecution case too. It was interesting and lasted nearly 10 hours. We had breaks and they fed us during those breaks and we were told to discuss different aspects of the case and come back with a verdict. When we watched the real trial on TV it was fascinating to see the changes they made and see the same bits of evidence presented for real. I took a vacation day from work to do this one because it paid $500. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't make $500 a day at my job!

The phone in or online surveys don't pay as much - it takes a while to accumulate any money or gift cards, but I've heard that some do that. Find an agency in your area that does surveys and volunteer for one there and get on their list. We don't always qualify when they call us, but when we do we do the survey.
