Ok, I'm on a serious job hunt. Any one else who is doing the same can also report their progress on this thread.

 

I've sent out several resumes today, and got kind of punchy and careless towards the end.

 

So, this is my really dumb question...

 

On one cover letter, I noticed there was a typo. I capitalized Client for some unkown reason. What would you do? Would you resend the email with a correction? It just went to a recruiter, not directly to the hiring company.

 

Or would you just let that one go?

 

It is for a writing job. :rolleyes:

It's a pretty minimal typo. I would leave it alone. The recruiter will not want to have to mess with multiple resumes, especially with something as insignificant as that. Relax story.

TBF is right on, Story. And my last "real" job was as a recruiter/manager of a temp agency. I was pretty picky about stuff like that as a rule, BUT if the rest of the resume looked good, I'd overlook it.

 

Now grammatical errors on a resume were a whole other ball game.

 

Don't sweat it.

My resume is very, very clean. I keep monkeying with these different cover letters though, to customize them. And I have to be more careful about proofreading.

 

I'm tempted to rush, b/c I'm supposed to start teaching on the 28th, and if I don't have anything better lined up I might be stuck until December. Once I start teaching it would be irresponsible to back out.

Just take your time on the proofreading and you'll be fine. Good luck! Keep us updated on this.

Just relax. Your writing style is clear and concise. It will diminish any concerns about one little typo.

It depends on the recruiter and your skills. If you advertised yourself as computer proficient with word processing; well....

 

Now minor issues like Client and client could have been alleviated by doing a 5 minute spell check.

 

I've looked at resumes and did interviews, the overall resume can make a difference. A minor spelling mistake is easily overlooked. If you did "two Many," I would question the human review and if you know what spellcheck is.

 

I would suggest updating your resume frequently.

I will miss you at crazy hours of the night and day, but can't wait to hear you have found something fabulous that exercises your skills and has you longing to go to work each day.

 

Then, you can hire a housekeeper to do that mundane crap we so like to avoid! ;)

I had a couple of interviews recently...and technically im supposed to have one either tomorrow or wednesday...ugh

 

Today I was speaking to an interview guy, he gave me day and time options in the beginning..I said, "Wed. 1030 sounds great!" At the end of the convo my words just slipped and said, "great, I will see you tomorrow at 1030!"

 

:( At this point i still remain a little confused what day i should go in...If I go in early a day, he might not be expecting me - or if i go in the next day, he might've been expecting me to show Tues. and think im late for an interview by a day...most awkward situation I've dug myself into :sick:

I would follow TBF's suggestion. Treat it as a confirmation appointment. Not really worded that way and not a situation.

Thanks guys, unfortunately i dont have the guy's email address. I only have the HR email which i used to apply for the job...I'll try that one and hope for the best.

Or can you just call in the morning to confirm the interview time?
