Strange feeling

Recommended Posts

Hi I am on my new job about half a year ago. It is a private company, owned by a father and son.

The father is 65, the son is his 20s. His son is tall, handsome but extremely naive and too trusting. I have always felt annoyed by his immature behaviours and have intended to quit the job once. For examples, my job is to set control policies and procedures and he wants it to be more flexible and always by pass the proper procedures.

Recently things started to change. I have changed my attitude and have been very willing to share with him my opinions, ideas and work experiences. As time goes by, I find him a very kind hearted and soft spoken man despite the fact that he is lacking of working experience. As the key employee, I feel obligated to share with him my knowledge and experience, regardless of whether the opinions were accepted by him.

He seems to appreciate it and would always talk to me. He seems to be very sensitive to my emotional changes and has been extremely helpful and friendly to me which I think it is unneccesary.

Few days ago, he came to explained a situation to me and I told him to explain to the relevant staff directly. He felt a bit annoyed and wanted me to convey the message on behalf. I looked at his worrying face like a helpless child and gave in. A colleague sitting behind us saw this and passed on an unnatural gaze to another colleague. Deep inside me, I felt something strange too. Thereafter, the colleague has always tried to tease me whenever the son talk to me or vice-versa.

Do you think there is something going on here? Why the son cares about me so much? Why the colleague was so sharp over the conversation? To me the conversation with the boss's son was a normal conversation relating to job, but the tone the son asking me to convey the message sounded rather childish, nervous and helpless, does that mean anything? He was also trying to find out more about my personal stuffs and etc recently....
