Success is the best revenge!

Recommended Posts

Because of the recent events in my life i've fallen into the deepest depression ever. If you read my thread titled heartbroken, you will know what i need. I feel like my only way out at this point is to become successful and stick it to everyone that has hurt me. I just don't know how to get there. I live in NY, in a 1br apt paying $1,200 a months. I have 2 small children and i'm leaving paycheck to paycheck ($400 a week). I have very little support from my family or my children's father. I want to go back to school and become a doctor. But this will take time. I need a mentor, someone that can help me and teach me how to reach financial stability in a short period of time. I need to get out of this depression and prove to myself and everyone that i'm not a failure. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? I have a resume that i can send out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As you can see the monthly rent is killing you. Instead of paying rent, buy a house and pay off the mortgage on your home. Also, make your ex pay the child support. NY is expensive, maybe you can move somewhere less cheap?

While I agree success is the best revenge, you're going to have to put in effort.

Before you plan your long-term goals I suggest plotting out your short-term. Your resume for instance, what jobs are you looking for? what kind of pay are you looking for? how will you go back to school, work, and take care of your children all at once?

Im from ny so i know how expensive things are here, have you thought about relocation and looking for a job there?
