I would like to share a video clip that is a personal favorite.

When I watch this clip it makes me proud to be an atheist.

It's not offending towards believers, so everybody can watch it:

I hope you enjoy it too.

My computer is too old to view the video, but I love how you countered Jinnah's thread and her christian video. Gotta be a hardcore obstructionist, oh yea!

I don't think there is any one thing I cannot doubt. I also think that nothing matters...........even though we all have feelings. Skepticism and Nihilism are hardcore junk, thats why philosophy dominates!

Great! Absolutely love it. I consider myself Atheist, though I do belief in a higher power. But that has nothing to do with Christianity, which in my eyes was created by mankind in order to manipulate.

Very interesting, boring, and, "fool"ish.

All it is is a compilation of people who have more grey matter than the average person.......anyone, (including believers), can put one of these together......and yes....it is offensive to us believers.....

Why would you find it offensive? Are there lies associated to the clip? If so, which ones, if not, in what way is it offensive?

Well, I guess thats too bad considering that the "believers" struck first blood by insinuating in "their" book that non-believers are fools.

I think the point is that there are some great atheist people out there who have done some great things without the bias of trying to collect brownie points for jesus.

Strange that is offensive to you.

interesting role call: The "fools" are from the field of science, and the "evil-doers" are athletes or movie stars ... And the latter is supposed to impress me when they more often than not embrace hedonistic lifestyles? That's so rich ... :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Bill Gates, as per the website "nndb.com":

In a November 2005 PBS interview by David Frost, when asked if he believed in God, Gates replied: "In terms of doing things I take a fairly scientific approach to why things happen and how they happen. I don't know if there's a god or not, but I think religious principles are quite valid."

so the atheists can't really lay claim to someone who finds validity in the same religious principals as do theists!

sorry, but the whole video struck me as an exercise in "look what I can do!" more than anything else. There are plenty of atheists and agnostics who live with moral grounding that a theist can relate to, but people insist on creating division rather than embrace what unites them.

do you believe in God? Yes? No? Good for you – at this point, the only relationship that is of importance is mine. Frankly, yours is much further down my list of things that should preoccupy me, but I do feel it's important to recognize people who choose to do good, rather than evil ... if that makes me self-involved, so be it. Because your faith journey is YOURS, not MINE ....

I find it offensive because the whole crux of the video takes ONE verse from Scripture, and gives the impression that believers"call" intellectuals who don't believe in God, (notice, I did NOT say a god, I specifically said GOD), "fools". (Take a look at Bish's post for proof.)

While it is in Scripture, it wouldn't be correct to assume that we believers walk around calling Atheists fools......but that is what the viewer gathers......

This comment just goes to show how much you don't know about salvation, or Jesus.

my favorite atheist preconceived image blown to smithereens: Madalyn Murray O'Hare used to decorate her home for Christmas.

Lynn, the cousin of my best friend lived next door to Murray O'Hare in Austin. Said that one day, the son came up to his house asking for help back at his home, and Lynn agreed.

he goes over and tries not to burst into laughter when old Madalyn started bxtching and moaning about how the "GD Christmas tree kept falling over" and they needed Lynn to help get the "GD thing" secured.

one live Christmas tree: $80 bucks

Christmas ornament collection: $100+

learning that the most famous atheist in the country decorates for Christmas: priceless :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Don't let Moose bring you down. He makes the mistake of asserting stuff. Socrates claimed to know nothing, but at least he admitted it.

It is a harsh battlefield of words in this forum category. Good luck to you argument.

I found that several LS posters who claim they are very educated and don't believe in God are cold hearted and stone hearted and often throw sarcastic remarks, say whatever suit them and don't care what they hurt others or not, yes, they are quite educated, but heart is barbarian, at least this is what I see from this discussion board. maybe that is the result they don't believe in God, don't have Holy Spirit working in them. maybe they are hurted by others as well, and heart become harder and harder without cleansing those garbages out by God. maybe they lost hope and softness of heart, and think 'barbarian (strong survive) is the only way"?

And you have claimed I am going to go to hell. Where is the heart in that assertion? And the notion of the strong surviving has nothing to do with evolution or social dynamics. The martial view of Darwinism is entirely wrong and is responsible for as many evils as humans acting in the word of god, forcefully trying to spread faith or deny critical thought. My heart is soft, but insinuate I am somehow evil because I don't believe in Jesus, and I will cast back the stone with enough velocity I could knock down temple's wall myself.

Many Atheists here have given extremely compassionate advice to people hurting. I seem to remember me posting about suffering from clinical depression and being told the way out of that was to accept Jesus. That was hardly empathetic to my pain. It belittled me.

because we don't want to see you end up hell, we talk about the truth the words of God, hope you all can put faith in Jesus Christ, and baptised by Holy Spirit

My flesh is evil as well, but spirit help me to overcome it.

did you read my thread "seeing what God does"? we are like filthy rag compare to God's righteousness. often we cannot see our own sins.

This is why bible thumpers like you make me sick. It's not because of what you believe but your superiority complex, like it's up to you to save all us "barbarians." It's people with your beliefs that have justified slavery and killing off entire populations of people in the name of "god." So don't point your finger at people like me and call me a barbarian. Also, I'm much kinder and more loving than you'll ever be.

Please don't even think i can save anyone, I cannot save myself :o. Only God can save you. and I am just a little tool that God uses. why did you think I said you are barbarians at heart? I said several, if you didn't attack, make hurtful comments, sarcastic, injustice, you are safe here :)

Wisdom/intelligence is a terrible thing to waste.

Not at all :). In fact, you can be both intelligent and humble, and can don't think the theory he just developed with lack of evidences is the absolute truth (how funy that the scientist don't the theory is absolute, but readers do think it is absolute, talk about idolize). true scientist always has curiosity and open mind and humble, that's why they can find new things. In fact, there are many intelligence who believe in God, and your country was built by several devout Christians:)

and true wisdoms come from God

I challenge you to find any hurtful, barbaric, atheist poster's remark on any LS thread not related to us being labeled barbaric!

How the hell are we barbaric? If anything I would say we possess extreme compassion and empathy. We genuinely care and try to offer unique solutions to peoples' problems. There are MANY religious people on these boards who don't preach "all your problems will be cured if you accept the lord (scripture 5:16-2)" because they recognize the complexity of human emotions and problems is not something FAITH can solve. Perhaps spirituality can be a positive component of improving your life, but COGNITION of thoughts, family, friends, and MEDICAL solutions are often more relevant.

Atheists are far from barbaric. We may not agree with religion, but to label us as having hard hearts...that would be like saying all religious people are loons living in the dark ages. While SOME religious people certainly fit that description, most are positive people who I welcome as friends and have no ill regard towards me for not believing. In fact, I know a great many that would expect to see me in heaven too, because their viewpoint is that when before God, you will be humbled, and worship in life has nothing to do with it. What matters is if you are truly repentant or not. I realize that is not the view of most religious people, but some hold to it. In my own STRICT religious upbringing I was told I would judge myself when I went before God, that God doesn't impose judgment.

Considering religion as an institution is just that, an institution with rules that doubtfully reflects what God really desires, I'm quite confident that people of any number of religions or even disbelief can sit before the Christian God and truly be repentant and be embraced into heaven. I've read all the scriptures, and my impression of Jesus is he would welcome all who were truly repentant.

What do theists call intellectuals who don't believe in God? For that matter, what do theists call anyone who doesn't believe in God?
