Rae Posted April 13, 2003 Share Posted April 13, 2003 I'm having this issue with someone I work with...I'm 19 and he's 32...(with a 12 year old daughter...which is crazy cuz i'm closer to her age than to his!!) Anyways, he's outwardly expressed his attraction for me and the fact that if I was single (which I'm not) he would want a relationship with me. He's not creepy with me or anything, he's kind and he's funny, but he's horribly relentless in his trying to win me over! The thing is, is even if I WAS single, I wouldn't date him...he's nice, just we are at differents stages in our lives and other than our senses of humour we have nothing in common. How do I express to this man that we can never be together without hurting him and without making everyday at work really awkward? HELP!!! Link to post Share on other sites
Tony T Posted April 14, 2003 Share Posted April 14, 2003 Tell him since you already have a partner to whom you are committed, he should call your partner (give him the number) and ask him for his permission to ask you out. Alert your partner in advance. Doing this should stop your co-worker in his tracks. If it doesn't, tell him you are only interested in men who respect the relationships of other couples. You will have to be very firm and assertive in this situation. You obviously haven't been around too many men of his kind. They are unrelenting in their pursuit of certain women and the ONLY way to get them to stop is to outright tell them to get away. Don't even worry about how things will be at work. They are awkward already. Personally, I would report this dude to supervisors and ask them to get him off your back. He's a low class piece of xxxx in my book. Link to post Share on other sites
