Recommended Posts

Alright,

So im out of a job right now.

And im just apply to stores and things in my small town, i was just wondering when i turn in my application should i wait for the manager to call me to set up an interview or is it best to call them?

Also- i want to open up my own non profit organization for animals: but i dont really know if i should wait until im more financially secure and in a better place with more connections. or should i start now? I know i want to within the next few years, but I feel almost like im wasting time right now with stupid jobs i dont really care too muc about. wut do u guys think?

Well, even non profit organizations often require some kind of financial backing. Any plans on where to get donations? If not I'd follow your passion! Do not jump in right away though... do your research!

The job may be a requirement to build your assets and credit score before you can borrow the money to get the non-profit started! You alway have to eat right?

hey, me too....welcome to the world of unemployment.

i have been waiting a couple days, and if nothing, i call.

Good luck! i think it's wonderful you thinking of starting a non profit. i wish i could do that, but i have a wife, a kid, two car payments, house payment, bills, food.....Hey, i've got an idea....why don't you start a non profit deal for unemployed men with families to care for;)??

what would the nonprofit for animals involve??

The non profit would be to help get the animals in shelters homes by promoting adoption- and increase awareness of why you should spay and neuter your pets... I want to increase the amount of animals adopted each year, not sure about all the details yet.

Also i want to eventually raise money to help owneners that cannot pay for their dog to get their balls snipped :p pay for it. Same with other medical procedures for pets that the owner cannot take care of.

Thats the big picture, im still working out all the little details...

I have some ideas on where to get donations. Big donations- no clue. But im sure i could figure it out. Im honestly more worried about running the non profit than anything- like who to have on my board and all the paperwork and stuff.

Those orgs already exist...... so instead of going into competition for funding you should join forces.

and trust me you need quite a bit more than a "job" to open a rescue.

It is a 24/7 job.

Go get a job at a shelter/ spay neuter clinic and learn the ropes.

Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Not saying you cannot do it but just keeping up with the NPO paperwork will be a part time job for you.

And you are doing no service to the animals if you cannot afford to take care of them.
