Looking for some subtle techniques...

Hey LSers,

I need some insider tips on how to row the boat here.

I met this amazing man this past weekend. We got along swell. He is intelligent and hilarious at the same time. I reckon I have seen him about 3 times now around my field of work. This last time we went out in a social setting, amongst new mutual friends. I did not know he was attending our social event but he made my night to say the least. I do know that he is a flatmate of a quasi-new friend of mine. From our conversations that night, I have gathered the following details regarding him....

a) He is from a different country (non english native, but speaks English well)

b) He does not use any social online tools (i.e. facebook, myspace, etc)

c) He does not have a mobile phone or a landmain either.

d) He is a couple years younger than me (but I would not have guessed)

e) He is well put together and quite laid back, almost aloof and mysterious.

f) He speaks of his home country with great fondness, but does not mention personal details of his home family life.

g) We work in different units but may cross paths in the future.

I was trying to gage his interest throughout the night. I first thought he has little interest, but a few things came to light later. We took some photo's together, he sat next me at tables, we walked in pairs around town, and he participated in one-on-one conversation with enthusiasm. We did not, however, exchange the usual flirting techniques such as arm touching, etc. He appears quite reserved at this point. He did however have his shoulders directed towards me when in conversation (for those that monitor body language).

At the end of the night, I asked for everyone's mobile numbers and emails to keep in touch (with the alterior motive of course). He of course gave me his email without a mobile number. My question is, how do I go about acquainting myself with this man further? We just met officially and through his flatmate at the moment. I can tell he is a shy man in the particular social setting we both are facing at the moment. I don't want to come off as too forward as I am not aware of what he is used to culturally, so I want to know how do I go about finding out if he has an SO back home that he is committed to? I don't believe asking this quasi-new friend for details is appropriate either.

Any suggestions?
