PrincessBOT
I am Christian I have been praying a lot trying to get closer to God. I have hate in my heart for a man that broke it. This is not about him it is about me and not having hatred. I have wanted to get closer to God for over a year. I grew up in church and my beliefs and values stem from it. However I have not felt that I have been living as I should, in God. Months back I prayed in my home office I asked God to help me get closer to him and help me see the obstacles. By the time I was done I was in tears crying, but it didn't feel bad. Last week I was telling my sister how I wanted to get back to church and asked if I could join her. I went last week and this week. I went back this week because last week my spirits were lifted and I could not imagine going another week without it. Today was even better and the church members are very supportive. When I left today I was happier and just wanted to talk to everyone. I felt my emotions, for so long I have felt, well nothing. Now I feel joy, anticipation, and love. Even now at home I am so emotional. Some of the bad events I see on TV that didn't use to faze me, I now feel and for some reason am crying over people's misfortune . I have tried not to think about my ex for fear of that horrible feeling coming back or just realizing that it is still there. But I am just so excited right now. Just as I have shared on LS the hurtful events of my break up, I just wanted to share another side.

wizer
You're welcome. I understand the importance of faith even though it's not my thing. My brother went through a terrible time with his divorce many years ago. He got into religion big time and that may be what saved him.
whichwayisup
I'm glad that you've found something again that you lost - Your religion and it's brought out some good emotions in you. I'm not a church go-er, nor am I a follower of God, but I do believe in positive energy and spiritual feelings - Maybe more along the lines of Mother Nature. Anyway, you've found your faith and it's helping you get back on the path you're supposed to be on.
RecordProducer
I asked God to help me get closer to him and help me see the obstacles. You made the decsion to get closer with yourself, because you felt ready to let go of the bad emotions. You describe yourself in the past as someone who was cold-hearted and full of venom and then turned into a happy, sensitive person. I think you're always been one, but you were hurt and coping with your feelings the best you could. Your faith in God is great, but it's YOU who saved your soul, not Him. Have some faith in your own will and adaptibility.
