georgejungle
Strange question probably, i know... But I'm asking because, i'm getting Frustrated because i feel like an Old Man when I'm only 31. I Have: -nasal allergies -a sensitive stomach that really pains me if i eat the wrong things. -a bad lower back that me so much i can't bend over at times. -a pain in my knee lately that hurts so much i can't put weight on it. -My foot has been bothering me too, pain in the morning. I only weigh 168, i'm 5'10". All the pain, not sure where I got it because God knows I don't exercise or do any sort of wacky stuff with my body, no alcohol or smoking or drugs. I'll admit I ate kinda bad for the last 2-3 years, but have turned completly around and have only been eating HEALTHY for the past 3 months with gradual exercise seeping it's way into my schedule. I'll admit too, my stomach muscles are a bit on the week side and I do a lot of walking to and from work in not the Greatest shoes, but O.K. shoes. But I'm just curious to know if any other dudes or gals have experience stuff like this. Why the heck do i have pains all the time, is it from not exercising????? drink more water??? sheeshhh
Pyro
At 25, I tweeked a muscle in my lower back, but that was from years of abusing my back. I have a friend in his 50's who stays active and he reminds me everytime that I see him that it only gets worse as you get older.
coco_milkshake
I am only 22 years old and I have a weak right wrist that sounds like a cement mixer when I rotate it. :sick:I had a tough time in exams cos my wrist would hurt soo much from all the writing. I have a stiff left shoulder from carrying all those heavy books at school and university and it hurts like hell when I rotate it. I have to keep rotating it until it makes a crick sound. Trialbyfire
If you get your core, back in shape, you will find that your lower back pain will go away. Stretch and strengthen. Sit up properly, hands on keyboard, straight out. No more lounging around. Yoga and pilates. I threw my lower back out from skiing bump runs. Not a good idea in your thirties. As my old chiropractor says, bump runs are for 16 year-old boys. Guess who's going bump run skiing this winter?

Why the heck do i have pains all the time, is it from not exercising????? drink more water??? sheeshhh It's a part of life. I think some of it has to do with your fitness level though. I'm turning 31 soon and have arthritic knees (a doctor told me he thought I was 50+ by looking at my knee x-rays, I was 25 at the time). My situation seems to be getting better the more I exercise though. It takes longer to recover from exercise, which makes me lose motivation from time to time. The aches and pains will always be there, but the stronger your muscles, the less stress you will put on your joints. It sucks getting there, but once you do, you should notice a marked improvement. Author georgejungle
Thanks Guys/Gals... I know my exercise level could be a lot higher. I just fall into the same old work week schedule. PLUS, all i do is sit around at my desk all day and I know Sitting A lot isn't good for your back. My back hurts even right now as I sit here. Yoga, yes, Stretching, Yes...I really need to do those things. I need o make my body stronger. It's just harder to do mid-section strength exercises when my back hurts. It's good to know (sorry to hear though) that I'm not the only one. Just seems strange since we're all fairly young still. These kinda things seem like things a 50 year old would be dealing with. Anyway, thanks for the insight and advice.

Anyway, thanks for the insight and advice. I had a rough life, that's why I'm in bad shape. Played college football, trained to be a mixed martial artist, did 3 years in the Army, worked a security job that had me on my feet for 6 1/2 hours 5 days a week, played semi-pro football, put on a good 70 lbs after the Army (sat on my ass and played video games with zero activity for 6 years), smoked for 8 years, etc... Right now I'm still about 30lbs over where I should be, but I'm losing it slowly and surely. I'm in the gym 4 days a week lifting and doing ju-jitsu twice a week atm. My biggest problem is that I push myself like I'm 20 still. This leads to a lot of injuries.

That's my prob...Weeks where my back isn't bugging me and I'm attempting some running/jogging, i'll tend to push it hard like when I was younger and I'll pay for it the next day with a strange pain in my foot or my knee will be paining me, or something else and it sucks...UGH!! uniqueone
I went to a vascular surgeon recently because I noticed some veins bulged in my legs after exercise. He asked if I had pain when that happened. I couldn't think of any pain that I had but then I mentioned to him that, as active as I am, I'm always in some sort of pain, so I pay no attention to it anymore. The next time I went rollerblading, I paid attention and I realized there WAS pain. So, I'm sort of oblivious to pain you might say. I'm the one at fault for the pain though because I tend to overdo things. No, at your age, I don't think you should be having all of those pains. I think it's probably due to poor diet and lack of exercise...both of which have to be changed for good....not just temporarily. You're a lot younger than I am and if you continue the way you are, by the time you're my age, you're going to be in bad shape. Trust me when I say this.....you can get by with not taking care of your body for a few decades......but the decade that separates the wheat from the chaff (so to speak) is your forties. Those people who have let their health slide in their 20's and 30's and gotten away with it......will pay for it dearly in their 40's. You'll see some people in their 40's who look like senior citizens and you'll see others who still look youthful. Part of that is genetic, but a big part is also how they took care of themselves before then. Definately start now.
Author georgejungle
Thanks for that Advice UNIQUE, sincerely. . . And it makes perfect sense...I think my body and my genetic build-up requires me to keep up with exercise... I wasn't born a "strong" man. I'm kinda on the small side in terms of build, wasn't built with a strong foundation or core. But since posting, i've been reading up online and it's true, You need to exercise and eat right and as you said : I think it's probably due to poor diet and lack of exercise...both of which have to be changed for good....not just temporarily. You couldn't be more right. Thanks. I'm definitely going to make some MAJOR changes and I wish you the best.

I'm definitely going to make some MAJOR changes and I wish you the best. That's great to hear george! If you have any questions about it, feel free to PM me (or ask me here). And like I said before.....diets aren't temporary. Too many people think of them that way and that's where it fails them. They think that a diet is something you go "on" and "off". Not so. It's something that you're alway on...because the definition of a diet is basically....what you eat....not a form of restriction. And if you EVER hear of a diet that mentions how you can "cheat" on it and still lose, run like hell. That whole mentality of "cheating" implies that the "normal" diet being offered is not desirable and that in order to enjoy yourself, you must "cheat". Cheating" evokes the forbidden and it makes the forbidden foods seem more desirable. This is the wrong mindset to have about food. Stay away from food plans that glorify the forbidden. And if possible, I HIGHLY advise: Avoid fast food at all costs Limit restaurant visits No regular soda Avoid processed foods if you can Avoid red meat as often as you can Concentrate most on lean protein and vegetables Limit alcohol DEFINATELY don't smoke The food limitations might help both your allergies and your stomach problems. (Btw, I know you don't drink or smoke but I threw those two in there anyway.) I would do some form of exercise daily if I were you...just start walking. That's all it takes. I would also start some strength training to build muscle because it sounds like you might need that with your build.
johan
I'm 37 and I can run and jump like a 12 year old. I have no pain at all. My joints all function like I just pumped them full of axle grease. I sleep soundly for at least 8 hours every night, and when I wake up, I spring out of bed feeling like a puppy. No back pain. No joint pain. My resting pulse is around 50 to 55. My blood pressure is dead-on normal. My fingernails grow out even. I have all my hair. I have only a couple wrinkles, but those are from smiling so much. I have all my teeth, including my wisdom teeth, and they're straight. I never have bad breath. And I'm regular like clockwork. StartFresh
I only weigh 168, i'm 5'10". All the pain, not sure where I got it because God knows I don't exercise or do any sort of wacky stuff with my body, no alcohol or smoking or drugs. Thats your problem right there. You are out of shape. Just because you arent fat doesn't mean you aren't out of shape. Hit the gym, do some weight training. I suggest evaluating your diet (not like, "lose weight diet" but more like "way of life diet"). Are you getting your necessary proteins, complex carbs, and mono/polyunsaturated fats in your diet or does it consist of coffee in the morning, a sandwich and soda for lunch, and whatever for dinner? All these can contribute to your body breaking down and you feeling like you have no energy, etc. Excersize is attributed to not only making you feel stronger, but helping your body stay stronger and healthier. -SF
