what they choose to do, it's their responsibility; and how you treat them is yours; treat people with different manner just not a good direction go for :o if you treat others with disrepect no matter who they are, that just speak your charactor, not theirs

I am under no obligation to condone, approve of or support behavior that I find immoral and appalling.

End of story!

Does this mean I'm not going to Hell, for being one of the unfaithful?

You are not going to Hell TBF. Church is for sinners anyway

...why haven't most of us taken up permanent residence?

I disagree that legalizing prostitution is a good thing... If it was... most countries would have legalized it a long time ago.

Some countries who did, have regretted it.

Not all prostitutes are underaged or work for a pimp... Some have sex for money by choice, and live a very good life, no pimps, no drugs..

The suburban 'prostitutes' are getting more and more popular.. ;)

I should add:

If I had to choose between:

being a married woman who is being emotionally or physically abused by her husband... no money, no career, with a few children... like a lot of women out there...

and

being a single woman who is free to have sex with whoever she chooses and get paid for it in the comfort of her home...

guess what I choose...

Good question!

Maybe because we get enough church from the self-righteous regular church goers?

We know what you choose, Lizzy.

How telling that you left out a woman who is loved and cherished by her husband in a full partnership marriage with both children and a career...like a lot of women out there.

I rather imagine they would most closely equate to my definitions of "low-life" and "disreputable."

Just as would evangelists and faith healers fall into my definitions of the above. What's your point (if you have one)?

Cheers,

D.

Let's turn this around.

Let's not; you made the ridiculous blanket statement in the first place, now you're running away with your tail between your legs. I call epic fail on you, dear sir.

Shifting the burden of proof is a cowardly tactic.

Cheers,

D.

Let's do. Especially now that you've called me a bunch of names and are currently unable to prove anything at all, beyond attacking me. Go to it boy. Prove yourself.

The same argument could have been made by slave owners before slavery was largely abolished (at least in the West). If it was such a good idea, why haven't more countries done it?

Fallicious argument, I'm afraid.

Some countries who did, have regretted it.

Which countries, and why?

Cheers,

D.

Way to kill the flow Tony:p

Yeah, so prostitution, good stuff huh?

Legalize it! Regulate it! Partake or don't, it's a free country, right?

Plus, if it's made legal, less women will be forced into it. The pimps won't be able to compete with the brothels.

That concept has proven to be very difficult for some to comprehend and appreciate.

Has anyone read "The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl" by Belle du Jour?

It started out as a blog, and is now a book and a TV series.

The book is funny and insightful- even if it isn't 100% true (which it claims to be), SOMEONE has made a whole lotta money out if it.

Euthanasia, abortion and stem cell research are also good things, yet the world seems reluctant to approve of these mainly because of an undesireable phenomenon called religion.

In the Netherlands we have one of the lowest numbers of abortions worldwide, even with all the foreigners that undergo an abortion here.

I can not name one country that regrets legalizing prostitution.

I don't want to start a debate on legalization of prostitution...

Just google 'legalizing prostitution' and you'll find a lot of articles against it.

This kind of prostitution does not 'affect' me... I'm in a totally different world. ;)

But to many, you would be lumped in the same boat as all the others.

You can't just turn a blind eye to an issue because it doesn't "affect" you.

Legalising prostitution will give all those turning those "other" kind of tricks more protection.

As far as I am aware, legalising prostitution was a great move in New Zealand, there have been far fewer violent attacks on sex workers since.

Sure, maybe you are in a totally different "world" but can you really truly deny those sex workers their safety?

I don't believe everything I read on the internet.

Seeing the statistics and facts in my own country speaks for itself. Thats more than enough for my opinion to stand firm on this topic.

I can't believe how obtuse this statement is

This kind of prostitution does not 'affect' me... I'm in a totally different world. ;)

Oh, I'm alright jack, let the others who are not as lucky as me rot, i don't give a toss.

That kind of attitude is much of what is wrong with the world today.
