Patty - the wires (electrodes) are attached to little round sticky things that just stick to you like stickers - no biggie.

Please let us know how it goes.

Im real nervous about having the EEG done. The paper says I have to be still during the test but once I fall asleep my body starts jerking and I know it will happen during the EEG.And I know I'm suppose to be still but wont be able to cause of my shakes.Im having it done on Monday at 1 o' clock. And I hope I will be relaxed for the test.

First, there is absolutely no pain involved in getting an EEG. Second, if you move during the test it's no big deal. It happens all the time.

The biggest thing you have to consider is the information gathered from the test may be very helpful to you in improving your health. That should give you enough motivation to handle things as best you can.

I guarantee you...it's no big deal.

another thought ... if you're allowed, try eating something for lunch that makes you feel sleepy. I know a big lunch usually does me in, and I'm just useless at work.

Today I met my new neurologist and talked about some of the problems I was having. He says it sounds like seizures to him that Im having.

Yesterday I was scheduled for an EEG but didnt make it cause I got real sick from the caffeine withdrawel and was vomiting all day plus the night before. And for this type of test they dont want you to have caffeine in your system. So my new nearologist that I met today said how to cut back gradually so Im ready for the EEG.I stopped drinking pepsi and am drinking sprite which is caffeine free.

This new doctor I have,I feel more comfortable with and he seems much more nicer then that other one I had.

So Im scheduled next Tuesday morning to have the EEG done.

I learned a lesson not to stop caffeine all together but to cut down gradually so I dont get those painful headaches.

Im trying to cut down every day gradually on my caffiene.

Good luck Patty!

My girl friend works in a neuro department and preforms eeg's on a daily basis. From what she's told me they are not painful or uncomfortable at all, and they will provide a lot of info your doctors need.

Best of luck!
