Need input: Good idea or no?

Hi, I stumbled across this site a couple of weeks ago and I am glad I found it!

 

Anyways, backstory: I used to like this girl I went to school with last year, I fell out of contact with her, but my feelings never really went away. This, among many other things, has been a huge source of anxiety for me. I'm not neccessarily bad with women, but the circumstances have been working completely against me here. I've been depressed, having panic attacks, etc. and all of my problems are so internalized, which makes them extremely hard to solve, y'know?

 

So, I've been hit with a bit of Christmas-time inspiration, and thought that it may be a good idea to somehow send her flowers anonymously, with a note that says something like "It doesn't really matter who I am, just know that someone out there thinks your great" or something cheesy like that. Nothing else. The idea is not for her to show up on my doorstep (though it'd be nice) or anything like that, just a simple gesture that would allow me to somehow display affection for her.

 

This is where I need a female opinion. How would you react to that? I can't emphasize enough that this isn't a ploy to pick her up, but just a way of showing affection and maybe making someone I care about's day a little better around the holidays. What do you think? Yes or no?

P.S.: What flowers would be ideal? Something tells me roses might be a little over the top. Just something to get the point across.

I'm not too sure if it's such a great idea to send it anonymously. She might think she's being stalked. Why don't you just put your name on it? I'm sure it would be a pleasant surprise and it's the holidays so it would be a perfect time to reconnect, don't you think so?

 

I love lilies! Anything unique would be nice. Roses are common.

In case you haven't figured it out, it's a terrible idea. Send flowers to a woman when you're in a committed relationship with her. An anonymous romantic gift comes off as creepy.

There's a way to show affection without having to spend money or creep her out. It's called "touching".

Just because you feel like crap, it doesn't mean everyone else around you (or not around you) feels like crap. There's a good chance that her holidays are already going great.

 

Also, I smell bull5hit. You want her to recieve the flowers, fall madly in love with you, and cuddle by the fireplace. Why the hell else would you be randomly sending flowers to people? But If that is indeed the case, I'll give you my address and you can send me some flowers. Don't worry, I won't think it's creepy, I'll just think you're gay
