PerfectLee
I'm hoping someone here can help me with a website or some information. I'm a girl in a gay relationship, recently engaged, I live in California, and I'm looking for a priest who is willing to travel or a church that is okay with performing civil unions. Obviously, this isn't something I've ever done before. I'm planning on only being married once. I don't have a clue how to start planning a wedding, reception, parties etc... annieo
If you and your fiancee are willing to travel, I suggest you come to beautiful Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Legal marriage is possible in a number of churches and other venues for gays/lesbians. Make it a honeymoon as well (or go on to Quebec City or Montreal, which are gorgeous and only 6 or 7 hours away by train/car). As you can see, I am quite proud of the no-bull**** laws in my country, and Toronto is an extremely pro-gay town. You could always have another ceremony at home, if you can't get all of your family and friends up here. What are the laws concerning gay marriage in your state? I'm curious. I read Dan Savage's column in our local weekly paper (NOW magazine) and he frequently rails against the antiquated and bigoted laws re gay marriage in the states. What's the story in Cali?
