CallMeCrazy
I have a question for all of you out there... Do you believe there is ONE person that you are supposed to be with? Soul mate, spouse, etc. You get the idea...
Tony T
I have a question for all of you out there... Do you believe there is ONE person that you are supposed to be with? Soul mate, spouse, etc. You get the idea... I did when I was very young. As I've gotten older, I've learned there are many, many people you can have a good life with. Some of us find a number of them along the way....others never run into them. I suppose if you marry the FIRST right one to come along, then that would be the one you were supposed to be with. But if you screw up on that one, there are always more. Having the thought that there's only ONE person out there for you is a very romantic notion but with gas prices the way they are he or she would have to be pretty close to make things financially feasible. White Flower
I have a question for all of you out there... Do you believe there is ONE person that you are supposed to be with? Soul mate, spouse, etc. You get the idea... Hi there, it's me:) I definitely thought this with my MM. The first time I looked into his eyes there was this unmistakable knowing. Something whispered into my ear, Trust him. The first time our hands accidentally touched--electricity. This was my soul mate. Thing is, he is bound to another and I can't interfere with that any longer. If he is my soul mate, then it was only meant to be that I would know him for just a short time in this life. Sad and a great loss. But the great thrill of knowing him for that short time will always be cherished. And if I ever D, I know to look for someone with the same zest for life. My heart can't imagine it now, but my brain can. You should read Journey of Souls by Dr Michael Newton. Very interesting read.
Leia
Me! I believe that there is only one man for me. I may be young and naive but I want to believe that whoever I end up with, he is the one for me. I will try anything to make it work. I had a few boyfriends and along the way, I had moments where I could have cheated on him but I didn't because I know it isn't right. There is only one person for you, one at a time. It's the one that you end up marrying that counts the most!

Leia
But what if the one you end up marrying you end up divorcing later on and then you go on to meet and marry another? I tell people I will only marry once. That's all I can take. So if the guy screwed up, then too bad....

Citizen Erased
I want to believe there is. But I think it is more about circumstances then anything. I love my bf but if we had never met I doubt I would be single forever, I wouldn't know what I was missing and would be with someone else
Leia
Even if the guy is far more amazing then you can imagine and he proposed to you? Are you proposing already, Riddler? If he's more amazing than the guy that screwed up? I know that's possible but no, I don't think I can take another heartbreak..... especially after a marriage that didn't work out. Mr. Lucky
Do you believe there is ONE person that you are supposed to be with? Yes I do. And as soon as Jessica Alba comes to her senses and calls me, all will be right in the world ... Mr. Lucky
Pyro
Yes I do. And as soon as Jessica Alba comes to her senses and calls me, all will be right in the world ... Mr. Lucky Better pull up a chair. annabelle75
I'm happy for you, annabelle75. Where did you find him? Or... when did he find you? How sure are you he is the ONE? How can you tell? I met him 3 years ago, when I was married. We were casual friends. Soon after I divorced and we remained casual friends up until a year ago. He said he wanted to give dating a shot. I gave him a chance ... and then a second chance .... We're very happy now. I'm optomistic about the future.

Pyro
Well what's your answer to this thread? Do you believe there is one person? I like DC's answer. Nothing is fool proof now-a-days unfortunately.
michaelk
I believe there are many people you can be happy with in life. Some fit us better than others. With billions of possible mates on this planet, if there were only ONE partner for each of us, we'd likely never meet them. On the question of soulmates, though, I feel somewhat different. Of all the possible mates I've encountered, I've only ever met one who felt like a soulmate. As White Flower described, there was a knowing and when we touched it was electric. Being with her was a spiritual experience, and I'm not a spiritual person by nature. But we had a connection that I think few people experience. I'm so grateful to have crossed paths with her. Perhaps in the next life, we'll meet again.

Cobra_X30
I want to believe there is. But I think it is more about circumstances then anything. I love my bf but if we had never met I doubt I would be single forever, I wouldn't know what I was missing and would be with someone else But that didnt happen, therefore it lies within the realm of possibility not reality. Reality is... you found your BF, he is a good man, and you will make it work. There is one person for you! Its the one you choose!
OpenBook
I have a question for all of you out there... Do you believe there is ONE person that you are supposed to be with? Soul mate, spouse, etc. You get the idea... In a word... No. I do not pretend to even BEGIN to know if there is ANYONE that I am "supposed to" be with. I simply have faith that everything happens for a reason -- even if I never find out what that reason is!!
BettyBoop
I believe there is someone out there somewhere who would be perfect in every way for me. And I also believe that if I wait all my life for him, that one special guy that was made only for me, then I will die lonely.
